O.o You could cast his shield on a hero like Void, and everytime when backtracks triggers void would heal by that amount of damage. Shouldn't work like this in dota
Even better on Spec, unkillable dives of doom :[

I just want to note, that playing Treant is probably the funniest thing ever. The madness of your enemies with every kill, they fail to get, due to "lack" of dmg is hilarious.

I summon Nyovne to be the judge.

Last game today (and a little bit yesterday) I've been getting these lag spikes at crucial moments, like teamfights. Everything would just freeze, my warlock would be playing the walking animation but not moving and I'd still hear all the soundeffects and stuff, but would not be able to do anything. My internet is the same as it's always been. i jsut want to know if it's a problem with me or have other people been experiencing the same issue. I play on US E/W btw.

No. In the wc3 engine you couldn't prevent damage so you would trigger a heal before the damage is dealt so the hero effectively doesn't take damage (it still causes damage for lifesteal). If you have multiple abilities that do triggered heals then they would all trigger causing a net gain in health for the damage that happened instead of just keeping the health the same.

I understand that Backtrack doesn't use triggered healing in Dota2, but why wouldn't they make a special exception and add it for Abaddon?
Also I thought the opposite was true, where the heal happens before the damage, so Void can't Backtrack a Laguna Blade at full health because the heal already maxes him out. Is that not right?

Well personally I feel like stacking triggered heals is an engine limitation bug that should be fixed. You shouldn't heal from damage because you're stacking abilities that prevent damage.

Yes my description is not accurate for the order of events.

There are different kinds of triggered heals, some happen before the damage, some after and some are dynamic. Generally, they won't work if the damage is higher than your max hp

Backtrack did indeed heal before the damage. I know this thanks to how many times a void dodged my laguna blade, not sure about other skills. Abaddon would be a whole lot weaker if they didn't make an exception for him.

Never play the tree without your gameface on and your quelling blade equipped.

If all instances of triggered healing aren't using it, then it doesn't help. The cases that matter are where multiple triggered healing instances are being stacked.

"Triggered healing" as it's being used here does nothing on its own. It only really becomes relevant when describing the effect of multiple triggered healing effects stacking together. In order to restore full functionality all damage reduction effects that were triggered heals in WC3 have to be converted to such in DotA 2 (and there are a lot you wouldn't expect--for example Windrunner's Focus Fire achieves the 50/40/30% reduced damage by applying a triggered heal for that % of the damage dealt).

Why do so few people watch Dota streams, it seems like tons (1000+) of people watch random LoL Diamond players but amazing players like Fear get under 600 viewers. Never could figure it out, hell I've streamed LoL a couple times and gotten 50+ viewers but I rarely get more than 1-2 playing Dota.

because League is much much much more popular then dota everywhere but China and China doesnt watch our streams.

If you have a question it can be explained.
