yup

But the chance of them both proccing is pretty low

Maelstrom has a 25% proc chance and entangle 20 % so there is a 5% chance of both of them happening, it's quite significant actually (reduces the entangle chance by 25%)

Yeah, it sounds like a small chance but if you think about it, since 1 in 4 attacks will get a maelstrom proc, that means 1 in 4 of your entangles will be blocked by maelstrom. Since dota uses psuedorandomness, I would think it's actually quite significant indeed.

entangle does use PRD because both Maelstrom and Entangle are based off Orb of slow
if this isnt the case in Dota2 well looks like we have another bug to report

That's really interesting. I wasn't aware of that mechanic at all.

It's a digression, but do we ever see people making use of that? eg. Kunkka beating on creeps before an engagement to stack a few non-crits in a row so his chance is higher when he goes in?

Seems like that could make a real difference if a player had the space to do it.

Was used heavily in Dota 1 with Syllabear's bear's root.

Bulldog does it all the time in his 1v1 lanes. If entangle hasn't procced after 3-4 creep attacks he sends his bear on the hero and gets one of his 'first-hit' entangles xD

And yet, the wiki says dota2 doesn't use PRD for entangle.

What is truth?

Dam some of those changes are quite interesting. I wonder what they observer ward change and sentry change is going to do. Seems like a few deward spots might not cover all the area needed anymore.
