To be honest I thought that with pennant's not really being touched since TI2 that the system is going to be reworked. They mentioned that the pennants were something they put in place because they wanted 'something like it' for TI2. And with the data they got from last year I find it hard to see them not changing them at all, even if it's just a price change. | ||

Because really, I think pennants 'could' be a big deal. But in their current form, even the most popular teams aren't going to be seeing a lot of return from them. I think they need to have a higher price and need to give you something more. Because you have 10,000 fans willing to support you, they buy a pennant. You've made $2,500. That's $2,500 you wouldn't have made before, sure. But it's not 'game changing'. And pennants last forever so you're not going to be getting anything more. I like the idea someone had where the smeevil couriers had banners. You could do that, and then have a pennant that you use, and that lasts for a month, gives you normal pennant stuff and also use it on the banner. So if you want to buy a pennant to watch TI3, same thing, 1 month, $1. And you would get some sales from your hardcore fans through-out the whole year. | ||

I think sustainability is the big thing. If you can get $1000-2000 per month from your fans, which isn't very much per fan, that would actually make a big difference considering the amounts players get paid. And for the fan-bases of the bigger teams liquid/eg/navi/fnatic/alliance I think is possible if there is a good system where people feel it's 'worth it'. Also encourages teams to get out there more, get more fans. But I don't know, we've heard a lot about how tickets have changed a lot for tournament organizers, but pennants, as cool as the concept is. We've never really seen anyone talk about the real impact. They might have been able to fund like 1 trip, but since they are 1-time buys that's not very meaningful long-term. | ||
