I am wondering when casters will start using websites and stop doing these lengthy reddit posts. Unless their site is not good enough...

Source: Reddit.

To be honest there were also threads on Reddit flaming dendi, xboct, pgg, etc. Reddit loves to bash someone even if it is just for a short time. Tobi will survive it.

Here's something to discuss instead of drama...

Why do you guys think teams don't pick bristleback? To me he seems really strong in almost any lane. He can fight early on, his midgame is terrifying and endgame he's unkillable. Best of all you can build him tanky early on and still have considerable damage due to ulti.

Biggest downside I see is that he's more of a DPS that wants the fight to go for a longer period of time, instead of burst-focused fights.

All of his skills are really strong, I especially like sticky goo early on. 20% ms slow is pretty OP! I guess part of the reason is that stick is so good against him?

I know he was picked back in DotA1, I don't really know what changed from then to now. But to me he looks like a really strong hero. He doesn't have an escape ability to do well in the offlane but he makes up for it in durability. Though considering which heroes are the standard offlaners now I can see him being bad compared to them.

That still leaves the mid and the safe lane. As a mid you suffer from the same lack of escape mechanism, but you're gonna have xp and therefore more levels in the passive early on. With tread swapping+bottle you basically can't ever go oom, and the harass he can dish out with goo+quill is pretty sick once he gets a point in ult.

I guess as a carry he doesn't offer much to the team besides running around and spamming goo on people, but it might be worth parring him up with a hero like weaver who would synergize well with the -armor and the more sustained-dps style of teamfighting.
You must gather your party before venturing forth.

Gank 'em hard with your teammates. And in lategame they are both squishy heroes so just focusing them in teamfights would be fine i think

As other people said, sniper can be ganked very easily before has his shadow blade. Same with drow, they have both no escape, low health and are slow.

Yeah, but that sounds almost impossible in pug games, since to rape them you will need good supports that will bring dust/ ward in order to counter their Shadow blade(they always build it) and you need stun/slow.It is really annoying how much DPS they have even on the early stages of the game...

well tell them to go gank with you! Also if some people don't buy wards/dust, just buy them!

You can also buy dust yourself. Any hero with good damage than can easily get up to their faces can easily kill them in a fight. Something like CK can work just fine.

So, I was just browsing through the international invite list and realized, that this TI3 is going to be goddamn exciting and "balanced" in terms of regional power, should all of the teams bring their A-game, which I really hope. There are maybe 3-4 teams I wouldn't consider for top ranks, apart from that everyone has a shot at the top ranks in my eyes. You guys feel the same, or am I being a bit delusional on my part?

Which teams do you think are not top ranks? But yeah I agree everyone can perfom well and as we seen the western scene isn't as far behind as TI2 made some people think.

Please note, that I wouldn't call those teams bad in any way, tho just slightly behind the real top. I'd have to divide into having a really low chance of getting into top8 in my eyes, which would be VP and MUFC and then a slightly lower chance in general than the top ranks, which I'd consider: Fnatic and dignitas. Tho I personally would love to see dignitas place high, I can't really judge their LAN performance. As far as Fnatic goes I just haven't seen much of them lately, so my view of them might be a bit washed up.
As far as my boys from mouz go, I can't really tell. They're too much hit or miss these days.

I agree on those teams. But I also think they have the potential to play on top with a lot of bootcamping. But yeah the teams are mostly likely to end up on top are:

Alliance
iG
LDG
Tongfu

The rest will have a shot but will have to work hard for it.

I wouldn't count Na´Vi out. Despite their simple mediocre performance, they're all really talented players with lots of expirience. Also, but this is just the fanboy in me, should VG qualify I'd put them into top8 as well. Other teams I'd rank high, but am still too unsure about what to think of them are Orange, Zenith, LGD.int and TL.

This is, what I just realized. Every team has a shot, from the looks of things. I can't wait until TI3 finally happens!

Teams on top

Alliance
iG
LGD
Tongfu(prone to unstableness though)
DK
Orange(prone to Mushi pls)
Zenith(IceIceIce box of tricks)

Teams not so top but still stronk

Na'Vi(A bit unproven, could be placed on top too)
MUFC
LGD.Int
VG/Whoever makes it out aside from LGD.CN
Liquid

Teams not so stronk

the rest.

Virtus Pro has been scrimming with Bristleback so perhaps we will see it from them.

Also it means Naix is firstban everytime you want to play it.

I don't really see what Bristleback offers a lineup. He either has chasing/damage amp with goo, situational tankyness with the passive and somewhat inconsequential physical aoe damage through quill spray. But you can only level two of the skills early game, so it seems to me there are other heroes that offer a lot more in this part of the game. Giving him safelane farm seems a bit wasted compared to an actual carry. Middle? Rather have NS, Slardar, DK or even Doom. In an offensive tri you would want to have Naix of course, but if he's banned heroes like Jugg or Weaver seem to offer a lot more than BB.

bristleback is a lot weaker in dota2 given the way "damage reduction" is triggered

aside from that #1 hero in the game

I really don't think you have to ban Naix against Bristleback, granted it can help the rest of your team, all* of Bristleback's set goes through Rage and he is similar to CK in that his natural damage output is higher.

*Cept goo
What does it matter how I loose it?

Surprisingly big tournament to not have any of the big 3 in China involved

http://www.dotatalk.com/neolution-orange-to-play-in-the-red-bull-ecl-2013

cool to see something with lots of smaller chinese teams though.
