Let's say VSync locks it to 60 FPS. If you suddenly go below 60 FPS, say to 55 FPS, VSync will lock your FPS to something lower, maybe 30 FPS. It will raise it to 60 FPS again later, but basically, the jump between locked FPS gives a sluggish performance if it happens often. Unless you have screen tearing issues, you should more or less never have it on. | ||

If I use regular find a match button in dota 2 does it put me in the pool for both regular find match (with stacks) as well as for solo players looking for a game since I'm queuing alone? | ||

I'm guessing they are separate. If you look in your game history, your regular queued games are labeled "public matchmaking"; while the solo queued games have nothing. | ||

The pools are one and the same. Otherwise 4-man stacks would never find games, right? I suppose they could just match 2 stacks with 3 stacks and 4 stacks with solos, but that seems a bit silly. It would mean 2-man stacks never play on the same team with 2-man stacks. Edit: My bad, misunderstood your question. | ||

That's definitely not how it works, 4-man stacks can of course not find people in the solo queue since the solo queue specifically states that if you search in it, you will NOT have to play with stacks. 4-man stacks will only get their solo players from people who searched for regular matchmaking while being alone. Whether or not a solo player who searches for regular matchmaking gets into the pool of solo queue... I seriously doubt it. | ||
