TA no, OD depends on the players' skill/OD's luck with Essence aura early on. By and large, Skywrath's mid matchups are either outright wins or skill-dependent at worst. There's no matchup that he really gets "raped" in.
Disagreed.
OD will just drain SM base mana pool so bad that he can't even dish out his ulti or unleash both his slow and nuke combo continuously. With OD higher base dmg and also INT drain giving more INT and a bit more dmg, OD can out last hit/deny SM. A competent OD player will shut down a competent SM very hard.
TA. Theoretically, you can block his nukes pretty easily. Mind explaining why TA doesn't have a lane advantage over SM?
Because i have seen Brax destroy SM with TA. Vice versa I also have seen Korok destroy TA with SM. Maybe i am wrong but TA vs SM should be an even match-up and more reliant on player skill.

The problem is that OD has no way to block SM's level 3 kill attempt. He doesn't have enough stolen Int at that point yet to limit SM's spell usage and has no escapes. OD's max HP at level 3 is only 488 (including the 3 Branches you will start with), while SM's purely from spells is ~360 after reductions, putting OD well into the danger zone if he's got anything less than full HP. If SM successfully kills OD there, he snowballs the matchup from there.
He will have a lasthit advantage and if he doesn't die his advantage grows once Aura/Astral levels rise, but it's a lot closer at low levels than you make out because OD is very easy for SM to solo kill as long as he has mana.

whats a good indication for your own skill as you cant see mmr? i just recently started playing more active and the only thing that gives me any indication is win/loss but still i dunno what exactly that tells me ;p

You can't measure your skill in Dota. You're bad, just accept it. We're all bad.
On a different topic, why is nobody picking Lycan nowadays? He still seems like a very strong hero. Even after the wolves nerf, he can still jungle pretty fast and all the strengths he had before all still there. I don't know why he completely disappeared.

Would you trade a potentially lane victory with a slow jungle farmer (Lycan is nowhere near fast)? Unless we're talking about Chen i wouldn't take that bet. Brutally speaking, a jungler have to be blazingly fast to compensate for worse overall lanes, or he has to be a good laner too so you have more flexibility there.

lycan is still a situational pick, but you have to invest a lot of resources in him. he can safe lane farm, and he still jungles very fast with pooled regen
for general indication of skill level, if you're solo queuing and relatively high mmr you can check what page # your games are on by scrolling through the live games. other than that you can check if your games are in normal/high/very high, but it's not particularly accurate since the skill brackets are so broad

Wolves are pretty ass in lane now but if you max howl/passive you can give pretty big advantages to your teamates as well as having big right click dmg.

what do you guys think of viper? i hate playing that hero. i just don't know how to use him. he's squishy and doesn't deal enough right-click dps. there are mana issues and his ulti kinda sucks. one thing i find him useful is when ganking 1v1 (especially with a shadowblade)

his ult is mega good with scepter

Pick him if the opponents have 4-5 melee
i'm srs
mostly

This reminds me, we used to run him as a kind of counter to naix in casualish inhouses with friends a year or so ago. He could drop the ulti on him in every fight with Aghs.

Yeah he's decent in those situations, but he tend to really disappear in lategame.

Viper + CM is a completly unfair dual lane in pub games. Extreme harass and good kill potential.

OD's max HP is not 488, not even close o_0, its more like 638

At level 1 without any stats OD already has more then 488(511).

He forgot about the 250 base hp every hero start with, noob Yango plz disband.

Surely any hero with a disjoint ability or blink will mess with SM? Just dodge his slow but thats only really QoP and puck.
SM will just die to a smoke gank anyway, he so squishy and would have to hit a 2 man slow to survive.
