Nightstalker doesn't have an attack speed issue at night so another item would be better in my opinion. Most games bkb is probably a good option, but it's 3.9k gold. Selling a pair of boots then buying bkb loses ~675 gold (since you'll probably want to sell phase boots) but the idea is that the double boots will allow you to farm/kill more efficiently to make up for that.

Except it also gives +31 dmg and +25 strength, health toggling utility, and not to mention the base stats of armor, health regen, dmg, and attack speed. It's also incredibly cheap, and not that much more than the phase or treads you'd be dumping your gold into early on.

It'll delay any extra item by ~700 gold. If anything the urn/medallion is a bit much. No one gets medallion nowadays and support getting urn or replacing wand with urn might be better.

Core build: bottle, wand, phase, treads, urn/medallion
You always need one pair of boots so the options are: drums + phase, drums + treads, or treads + phase. Normally I'd get drums instead of one of the boots. but phase boots give twice the damage of drums and more +ms with phase than drums + its active. Drums also give +14 AS (+24 w/ active) while treads always give +30 AS. This with how good tread switching is with bottle, double boots build on Nightstalker should be good. How is that a core build? You have no slots left for anything important like a bkb, or hell, armlet. Also, you're trying to compare drums to both treads + phase. Try comparing it to one of the items while you already have + move speed accounted. It's not worth it. I compared drums to phase and treads separately. Phase boots give more +ms (+16%) than drums even with a charge (+15%). Treads give more attack speed than drums even with a charge. The advantage going drums + boots over boots + boots is stats and aoe aura. Boots + boots win in attack speed, movespeed, flat damage, and + either phase ability or tread switching.

Thing is I don't see Nightstalker as a hero in a teamfight that's supposed to deal a ton of damage. Silence, slow, pick off supports without dying by abusing mobility at night. Armlet is good for damage but it delays an aghs or bkb too much in my opinion. I'd consider it more if you're going carry Nightstalker with midas first though.

Err no, you have to be more specific to what you're comparing it to. Boots + boots does not win in attack speed, move speed, and flat damage. It depends which combination you get. Boots + boots vs. treads Drums? It doesn't win in attack speed and you still have tread switching utility. Boots + boots vs. phase drums you don't have the attack speed and tread switching but you have everything else. This is on top of the stats and group utility you gain from drums ofc.

I could argue the same thing that buying an extra pair of boots delays your bkb. Also, armlet is a relatively early game item where you're not always expected to start team fighting. You'll still have a lot of skirmishes. Delaying bkb for when you actually get into serious team fights isn't that bad, sometimes for the best. Armlet gives you a lot of burst when you gank and can net you much easier kills under the duration of void + silence. It's not even a contest what would be the best ganking combination of items between treads+phase or just one pair of boots + armlet.

Wasn't it meant to include a western team? Or is LGD.int a western team? Or am i confusing it with something else?

It's more expensive, which sucks for supports, and it doesn't provide health/stats like drums. And there's also the aoe mobility you get with drums on top of that.

Yeah, it seems so.
Along with the release of the Chinese Dota 2 servers, Perfect World and Gamefy are happy to announce the Dota 2 Super League (DSL). With 10 Teams, including one to be announced mysterious foreigner team, the tournament will take place in Shanghai and use the Chinese Servers.

Mysterious pick indeed, but i won't bitch about it. Great teams/groups.

Did they specify Western team? If they said foreign, that would be Orange then.

It's usually the carry who gets drums anyway. As a support, drums usually won't do much to help you survive compared to a naked bracer, and as a support you usually have enough room to just walk around with a bracer for a long time. Personally, I don't like drums on NS anyway because I don't think he doesn't benefit much from all stats at all. He's really not a mana intensive hero as long as you have a bottle.
|
Lgd.int so mysterious. The masked avengers of Western doto.
|
Look at the schedule. Orange, DK and iG will be playing in the G-1 League LAN Finals from the 24th to the 26th.
Also, TI3 Eastern Qualifiers will be happening at the same time.
|
with just bracer or just urn + bottle, NS can really cover his mana though
Never feels the need of drum of NS. I'd go naked Ogre or vit booster if you need more health than a bracer.
His lvl4 hunter of night MS can pretty much kill a slow support who are a stray or slow carry with no escape mechanism.
