It's not about not wanting to time the phase boots. It's about the timeframe where you're missing out on goo and quill stacks in fights.

You never have to miss out on any casts though, you get to choose if you want to use phase whenever you want, or cast skills whenever you want, and again if you don't want to do that then go treads.
I'm just saying i would much prefer treads and others items over arcane and mek because they just are such a waste if you can get farm for other items and let a teammate get the mek and arcanes so you can benefit from both.

My current build is like helm of iron will, soul ring, boots, armlet, treads, hood, heart, pipe, vary it up depending on the game.
Helm gives armour and the toggle is so fucking broken, especially on BB. It seems to work at the low mmr I play at (but then so does vanguard)
Gracias While this BB discussion is good, I would really like for someone to address my original question: armlet vs vanguard on BB which would you go for? I would usually answer 'neither', but if I absolutely had to pick between the two, Armlet. Vanguard is just not worth it right now. I can think of more situations where I'd get Vanguard than Armlet.
Any of the situations where Vanguard is good, you can't afford to get other things. Any of the situations where Armlet is good, other items are better.

That's wrong though, you DO have to miss out on casts to make use of phase boots, i'm not saying it's wrong to build it, i just so much prefer treads because i do not have to choose between utilizing phase or keeping up stacks, and treads also synergize nicely with the hero.

Mek is the best midgame item in the game, makes your team an absolute nightmare to fight, and getting it on BB guarantees that it always goes off in fights (you can burst a chen with mek, BB not so much). Think about it this way, the reason you get tank items on BB (and other similar heroes like viper, necro, DP) is because he does damage by staying in the fight as long as possible. And there is no item in the game that gives more survivability for it's cost than Mek.
And again I really can't agree with the BKB. You WANT to get stunned as you run in, because that means your team is free reigning free. You don't pick Bristleback expecting him to autoattack heroes an entire teamfight (if he does that means you've likely won). The massive autoattack damage that you get from his ult is supposed to force the enemy team to focus their attention on him.
I will however put a disclaimer that BKB is never bad (much like drums). In some games, situations, and against some lineups, it might be necessary/preferred, but in general I don't think it's a very good idea. In 9 games out of 10 I'd much rather have ~4/5ths of an Assault/Heart/a full pipe etc than a BKB.

The difference is not that big though, vanguard is 2225 and armlet is 2600.
Vanguard is a great item to get early on if you plan on doing a lot of fighting/diving without going back to fountain after every fight. The 40dmg block quickly loses its value as everyone gets more levels/items, so don't get it too late into the game.

But the Stout is a guaranteed buy at the beginning of the game regardless, and Vanguard conserves a slot.
Vanguard is good in the kinds of games where you're losing but the action is really tight meaning you can't afford to save for anything and have to continue stacking the shit out of multiple midgame combat items to keep up with the pace of the game. Conserving a slot means you don't suffer the drop in cost-effectiveness that comes with selling an item (especially as the item you'd be selling is probably one that has very high midgame combat effectiveness like Wand.

Screw traditional tanking BB builds. Phase, medallion, drums, urn, stout. Watch supports melt with -10 armor with just 2 casts of goo.

Does anyone know if "Replay Unavailable" errors eventually get resolved? I got a G1 League ticket and missed the last set but the matches say Replay Unavailable. (this is not the Replay Pending thing for matches that had just concluded)

I mean, you should expect nothing less, I doubt FXO would even be on anything close to a pro level at this point.

You're very insightful on many things, but the european games I've seen where they've used vanguard very effectively (even recently), I disagree on this. Some definitely get it when They are ahead and the enemy doesn't have the money to make the damage block cost ineffective.
