When it was initially changed it became an instant pick up on every hero under the sun who ever felt like farming with a mana intensive spell. Like strength carries were picking it up. Was a little absurd. (Important to remember - arcane ring instead of boots, no soul ring, no urn, no medallion, more expensive orchid). There were also different interactions (it didn't block fissure while linkens does, but did block global ults, etc). It fell somewhat out of favor eventually but the 300 gold reduction made it go from "situational" to "oh, I want mana regeneration - > linken's" | ||
