I don't know whether your comment is about the "HoN system" or admins pausing it, but if you are talking about my post about admins pausing the game for players, there shouldn't be a problem. If the admin is awake and capable of doing his job, he will pause the game in seconds after it is requested. If you aren't familiar how things worked in Broodwar for example, player requested pause from the admins by typing "PP" etc, and admin pauses the game.

I'd rather tournament mode faded in an overlay for players after 3 seconds of pause or something (with all chat available obviously), and then once the game is unpaused it's removed and there's a 3 second countdown. That way players can still pause very quickly in the event of the game becoming unplayable at a critical juncture, but you don't get to spend it staring at the action that's about to break out and working out how best to react.

The debate turned into a fanboy flamewar almost instantly. What the fuck guys, get get your shit together. Its the reddit effect. Its kind of hopeless. Admins pausing is inefficient and clunky and would just lead to as many awkward moments. This seems like a good idea. Doesn't help 100%, but seems decent.

As it is his 2nd language plus the culture differences, i doubt if he really means what he said. These kinda culture are commonly seen if you are not from an eanglish speaking country. In asia people still flipping each other off in pictures without knowing that the sign actually means 'Fuck you' in english. Even if he means that, whats the harm for being angry after you are being accused of something you didnt do? The evidence are unclear as far as i can tell. Again, the fundamental problem is about the tournament organizers and lose ruling which ultimately lead to problem like this. Its like hating on teams because they pick KoTL PL, nonsense. edit: further into this, you can ultimately compare this situation like somebody in the sc2 scene spot out a map hacker. In that case that person does not simply go on youtube and say it. You construct proper evidence with legit pro players opinions chip in via multiple replays analysis. What merlini did could be right(im not ruling that chance out), but clearly the method of him doing it was immature, unprofessional and targeted Puppey as well as Navi.

Dabeliuteef/HONTRASHPLAYER is apparently going to try play both games competitively, so while he's still on Orange's HON squad I guess he'll also be MUFC's fulltime standin...

Well well, hopefully something good will come out of this with admin pauses only etc. And Zerogravity may give Puppey some media training 101 while he's at it. )))

Not to mention it is possible the player dcs in game only after he has dced. Which could mean there's could be upward to 6-7 seconds between dc and pause.

While for the pause cheating, well, we can never tell the truth behind it. Puppey will just deny it and the 'evidence' where he pinged or whatever during the pause would just be 'coincidence' or natural response as a player.

I was refering to both systems, because both delay the pause by a few seconds, and a few seconds can be crucial in a teamfight. Also, I doubt you would always have capable admins. I like the ideas about screenfreezing etc.

If it takes that long for 4 of your teammates to realize that one of yours is DC'd, i think theres a bigger problem than pausing the game.
