That said I'm guessing this isn't really performance based.

I believe they had to do some work when LoL when to china too.

Although it may have only happened so far in WoW, the Chinese government really really doesn't like depictions of death, skeletons, skulls, blood, gore, etc. in video games. I'm pretty sure one of Cyborgmatt's blog posts from awhile back shows a huge list of skill icons that are already being changed for the Chinese version release.

Lol, I love the death pulse one.
Looks like Necrolyte is trying to hypnotize you or something. :p

must be some new weird rule some idiot came up with then cuz there was plenty of skeletons, ghouls, blood, gore in 仙剑奇侠传 which was a crazy popular chinese rpg that came out in the 90s

Are they change Blood Seeker into Hug Seeker?

Universe is coming back to EG. Calling it here!

lol. Chinese forge spirits are now animated bowling balls. Excellent.
I love that for some of them, they just turned the blood black. Clearly it's logical for pudge to carry a hook soaked in oil.

Oh ok, thanks.
So, was there an explanation of why they were changed? From the pictures, I am guessing it has something to do with representing skeletons, dead, and in general, death.
