I'm sure n0tail is very happy with this. There was another bug which made the hp bar take up (go across) the entire screen

Yeah, that was a result of this bug. Fixing this one fixes both.

Whatever, I need to digest the balance patch ingame anyways.
Edit: Also kind of wish they added new sound effects for dagon :[

Valve is probably ignoring Doto for a while and focusing in another game or the new engine Gabe talked about. Either way, DotA2 to be released 2014. Not even kidding.

But it was the most anticipated game of 2011(or was it 2012?)

Too much money in hats, not enough in new hero dev, etc. etc.
Warning scrub tier talk ahead:
Anyhow THANK GOD for some of these 6.77c parity changes. I hope these changes take KotL down the peg he needs and with the Tranquils change, hopefully we'll see some more diversity in the carries being played (not that I don't like seeing PL and Drow every game, but come on). The Drow changes might end up being enough to curb her in the low tier games I'm in. That coupled with whatever visual indicator they have for marksmanship, will hopefully teach people to rush her and shut her down. I can hope anyhow.
Good patch. I don't need more heroes when I can't even deal with the ones we've got.

I was really hoping there would be a new hero this week seeing as Bioshock Infinite comes out next week
|
The valve hawaii trip is in 2 weeks so prolly next week we will get something

My guess would be, that they don't want to implement heroes based on current balance status, because 6.78 might eventually not that far off and it would cause too much of a hassle to implement heroes and then change them again. You never know.

Valve are taking their time, what a surprise.

Funny enough this actually makes the most sense. I imagine that if they are in talks with IF, that they are holding up due to reasons other than to make a video series called 'Valve Trolls the Dota 2 Community.' (however hilarious that may or may not be).
It would stand to reason that if this is the case then 6.78 would be very soon, but anything more than 3 weeks would be a bit questionable IMO.
That being said, I'm starting to feel that new hero need too. Not for lack of ones to play, but I just want to see Skywrath Mage lol.

In fairness the current crowdsourced release is the most played game on Steam.

Cyborgmatt doing content analysis on his stream. Some interesting stuff.

Skywrath Mage's and Tauren Chieftain's ultimates both look absolutely stunning. They're taking long to release, but I have a feeling the heroes are going to be amazing looking once they come out.

I'd like to have a discussion, but I'm not sure where it belongs so I'll just put it here.
+ Show Spoiler +I'm not too familiar with how the TL forums work, but every topic in the Dota 2 General forum seems to be a news or article discussion topic and not any other subject. So I guess a call to discussion belongs in this topic?
Anyway, this is about 'the server issue'. I'm not looking to start some NA vs EU debate! I'm simply wondering: what caused the current public outcry about teams winning on certain servers, as well as players blaming their losses on having to play on a 'bad' server?
I've been following competitive Dota 2 very actively since the first International. I was there for the first Defense, with the epic DD vs Na'Vi finals. I was there during the rise of FIRE (later coL), starting with their Dota2Replays Brawl controversy, to them winning The Defense 2. I watched every season of The Premier League, most of the Starladder seasons, and the various It's Gosu tourneys. Yet never during all that time have I noticed a public discussion about server issues, at least not related to NA and EU teams. The only time I ever heard about it was in relation to Chinese and SEA teams not participating in international online tournaments due to the obvious issue of unplayably high ping.
All this whining about 'NA teams can only win on USE, and lose every game on EU', all the discussion about NA teams supposedly 'getting an unfair advantage' due to most of these matches being played on USE, where did it come from? When did it start? It seems to me to be something of the last two months orso. I simply cannot seem to remember it being a topic of discussion before that. Am I going crazy, or is this just some trend, a controversy that viewers, players, managers and newswriters have now seemingly embraced en masse? When did this go from something that tournament admins and teams hid behind closed doors to a public issue?

The only thing i can say for sure is that every single CIS team absolutely HATES to play on USE. The ping is way too high (because the distance is way longer than for any other non-CIS team) for a comfortable competitive game. I can't say anything about other parts of EU.
