Yeah I think I got confused in retrospect.
Ghost Scepter is still a good lategame support item regardless. The cases where you're not threatened by nukes but ARE threatened by a right click hero are actually quite common--e.g. nukes used on heroes at the front of the fight, AM blinks past, pops BKB and starts right-clicking support heroes (particularly if you take note of the enemy's CDs and don't pop Ghost when there are big nukes un-cast in range of you). And being able to survive to get another cast of some important disable is worth more than the Drums active.

great thing about drow is it's always your fault if she gets out of control. if you are support, your fault for not ganking her, if you are a carry your fault for not out farming her, if you are mid, your fault for not controlling the midgame if you are offlane your fault for not preventing her easy farm through pulling.

yeah with any carry that needs levels and items to be good late, its the whole teams fault when you lose to it.
