I don't play THAT often, I have about 300 hours and really never run into intentional "leavers". There are a lot of people who d/c from internet

Leavers seem pretty common in the first couple games for you new guys, I guess because they are also new accounts and ppl are just like 'whatevs' and quit, but it shouldnt last long at all, leavers become very rare as they just get put into low priority
Possibly a strange question but, I just bought the game and wanted to try out the game versus ai first (using Windrummer and this build -> http://www.dotafire.com/dota-2/guide/in7-gankers-guide-to-windrunner-758) but in which way are they (even slightly) compared to real players? As I find easy and medium bots way to easy while hard is quite challenging for a beginner such as me.
Want to be prepared in order to start the 'real thing', so

hard bots are 10 times better and smarter than real players you get when you just start playing(unless they are smurfs) possibly even a decent time after that as well

Well They are programs so they aren't anything like people. Bot games are pretty much only to learn what the heroes do. because when you start playing with people they are far more unpredictable and far worse than you expect for a long time.
