Troll is one of those characters that i couldn't tell you how he CURRENTLY plays because his rework was past my time. but note that he changes from melee to ranged, and his spells differ based on what form he is in, his melee form historically is known as a rapid attacking bash centric style, while ranged is more about chasing people and kiting.

I know he's a ranged/melee hero that can switch between both. Carry hero of course. I couldn't tell much since I didn't play DOTA 1 on WC. As a younger child, I didn't like the volatile community. Now gotta just deal with it. I'm excited though because of his ability to switch between the two. That and I've been wanting to pick up a carry hero I would like to play if my friends did not want to.

Last time I played him like 6 years ago as a little noob me, I rushed double basher on him every single game. Probably not the most optimal build ever.

Basher is pretty strong on him so is satanic. I remember plenty of fights where he dropped down to like 1/10th used ulti and back to full health instantly.

This guy seems like a really fun hero to pick up a MoM + sange or diffusal or some other stupid build like that on.

back a long time ago it used to psuedo stack. often people would build basher MoM and just go around with crossed fingers.
