I honestly would not give a shit or think twice if any hero went shadowblade in any of my games atm. Also, I'm loving least played mode.

I also need an early game build for luna. I'm not so much into the drums/tranquil build in pubs but I still feel like I'm missing something early on. Usually I go treads/hotd so I can stack ancients but I'm thinking about maybe getting something in between. I think drums is too expensive when I go for hotd early and delays bkb/manta so maybe just ring of aquila? Or just skip ring completely and go hotd shadowblade

So many models are definitely worthy to be called Dota heroes 2.0 but they went with weird choices for a few of them.

Lots of the wc3 models look more dignified. Straight back, good posture. Dota2 models just being lazy and hunching all day T_T.

Biggest difference is the Juggernauts. Wc3 model blows Dota2's model out of the water.

Actually I like dota 2 jug. I think most of the models are very nicely done in dota 2.
Worst model being that of Rizzrak, he looks quite badass in dota 1 and way to comicy and boring in dota 2

I like boots switching with axe. Arcane->disassemble back to tranquil, repeat. Helps you with mana problems without having to pay the extra 450.

And people underestimate vanguard damage block if you're tanking heroes/towers/ancients (but it's still expensive). If you're being hit by a support that does 40 damage (unlikely, but for the sake of argument), you're removing 70% of the damage. If you only have stout shield, that's 30% of the damage, and it will take over 2.3 x as many hits to do the same amount of damage.
At 44 damage it takes 2x as many hits, at 70 damage it takes 1.5x as many hits (which is ~8 armor if you had 0 armor, maybe ~10 armor with 3 base armor).

The only Dota 2 Model i REALLY dislike is AM, in Dota 1 he looked Badass, the new one just looks bad.
All else i'm pretty happy. Some could imho need some more work like Death Prophet, CK and most of all Medusa but in general i am happy.

Some ports are truely outstanding imho.. Dazzle, Doombringer, Tiny and Lion look really, really good.

Juggernaut is so much cooler in DotA 1 than Dota 2. Biggest fail with the switch is still ES and Slardar tho. ZZZZZzzz

Miss those player colours too. Would you want them back or have it like it is now?

The only problem with absorption is that it is a dead end. Vanguard is a dead end mid game item that combines some nice laning items into a single slot, but doesn't really offer you anything beyond that. Going from absorbing an average of 12 damage to 28 damage is a pretty significant increase, especially if you're intending to hit a mid game timing. If you don't get work done during that time period then you're carrying around a dead end item that is inferior to other choices.

The only time I'd consider vanguard worthwhile is versus Ursa for instance since he is going to hit you a bunch of times very quickly. His damage can get high, but that isn't until he has quite a few stacks of fury swipes on you. Reducing some of those attacks by 40 is going to significantly impair his damage output, especially since he is a real terror early on. No other hero hits really fast before they're also doing significant amounts of damage that absorption will be inferior.

it's also good for towerdiving and midgame teamfights and anything with creeps like chen or enigma
and it lets you do multiple stacked camps by yourself
it's not really a go-to item any more but it's still pretty good

It's just tranquils are too good on axe. Getting a vanguard on top of that is just overkill for regen and you're wasting 900 gold. Or you could go tranquils + urn which is solid as well. You may as well just buy a vit booster like someone said and stop there or just get another more useful mid game item. You don't need to worry about slots if you just sell off your stout shield you'll be just as well off without the vanguard.

arcanes are better on axe
if you go tranquil boots you need to energy booster swap which is kind of awkward, or soul ring which gives you less mana and makes you squishier
mek might actually be the best first item but axe's mana pool is kinda small and it's a lot weaker for clearing stacked camps
