What was the reason that it doesn't do damage anymore? Because what i always felt was that it was actually 'way' too good when it dealt damage, but now without it, its almost useless.

Well, they decreased the cooldown by a significant amount - I think the idea was almost a beastmaster-type roar effect. Roaming around finding kills with this ult was theoretically pretty strong.
I think the idea is to do something unique with his ulti - maybe a reverse vaccuum effect (roar-like) - pushing every hero away from treant while ulting. Would be broken around Rosh pit though.

wait i remember this discussion. Ravage and Overgrowth. I want the damage comeback for overgrowth!

pushing people away from a slow and tanky hero isn't a good idea lol, I feel like apllying something like a mini leech seed would be great or whatever really, currently it's just shitty with low CD being the only redeeming factor

Randomly apply 3/4/5 leech seeds of your X level leech seeds on enemy heroes in an aoe. I think i am heading to the suggestion forum!

Perhaps, as previously suggested, it could heal every ally? It would be interesting, as it would be a mek-like effect that you would use later in a teamfight and different because it would still tether down enemies.

What about making it apply the current level or Living Armor on all friendly targets within range?

You're all looking at it wrong, they should just rework his ulti, here's my idea:
"Natures Fuck You" Target Enemy hero Magical Melee range
Swaps heroes with target permanently or until the player currently holding the hero uses Natures Fuck You on another hero. Doesn't swap items, cooldowns on spells transfer to the next player. Cooldown 30/60/120 seconds.

I say Treant Protector's ult should turn ALL trees into Treants.
He'd still suck though.

Change the name to something more eloquent and we can mail Icefrog

how about just "fuck you" I love the idea of a shitty hero whos ult is just to switch heroes with someone else.

I like the HoN remake, especially the treats for split pushing. IceFrog should consider remaking roof as well.

He has obviously still not found a place where he is happy with treant. I'm expecting the treant we see at TI3 to be vastly different from current treant.

Should be a billion and one.

Having all targets caught and Leech seeded as well would make it decent.
Or make the ulti Global range!!!

Tree would be fine if:
A) His leech seed had a reasonable range (like tide gush) B) His invis had a reasonable fade time and/or mana cost C) His living armor wasn't ass (should do more to heroes, but 1/2 of hero effect on towers). E) He had a better manapool (or a way to easily farm mana boots/soul ring. Base damage =/= farming ability like tide's splash)
Pick 2 IMO.
I still think he has potential as a suicide laner with invis and tankiness, but he is sooooo slow. And the mana cost on his invis is pretty retarded for how useless it is.

Tree is fine, you just have to send him mid.
