Just a question regarding strategy: why do I sometimes see supports going solo mid in high level games? I've seen shadow fiend and venomancer mid and I heard Aui say on his stream that solo mid Dazzle is quite good. I always though carries are best for solo mid because of all the extra farm that you can get. Why would a support need all those last hits/solo XP? Is it only if one of your carries is jungling or something? Someone knowledgeable drop a quick explanation please.

Also, why do you sometimes see two supports in a lane (at a high level). I think I saw CM and another obvious support, don't remember who. Is it just to try to push the lane early?

Im probably wrong, but dont Dazzle require levels a lot? All of his skills are great, True it doesnt need much farm, it does need the level. Aui is probably referring to that situation.
Carries aren't that good for solo mid most of the time, they are usually used on Safe Lane. Solo mid is another class of heroes itself, different from a Carry.

So what constitutes someone to be good for solo mid? Being very level dependent?
You mean I just write stuff here and other people can see it?

Their killing potential is great. You can take CM and any other early game hero to completely stomp many laning combinations.

Generally you send someone mid you can control the tempo of the game. Heroes who are strong at level 6 and can get rolling easily ganking. Lanaya, Nightstalker, Beastmaster, etc etc. Most importantly though you want to win as many lanes as possible. You will often see carries like Luna or Lone Druid middle who aren't tempo heroes, but guaranteeing them farm is going to put you ahead in the long run.

There are a number of factors that can make a good solo mid. Having good rune control, good ganking capabilities, being level dependent or a clear advantage in last hitting over other heroes (think SF) can mean a hero is good for being a mid solo but they can have differing roles.
Sometimes a good solo mid is a hero who wouldn't neccesarily take mid but can efficiently do so because they can hard counter the enemy mid (think Axe on mid vs Pudge or Lanaya).

Also heroes aren't locked roles all too often. A hero like shadow demon can go up be run as 2nd position, just like wind runner can go down and be a 4th position.
Both uncommon scenarios because they fill another role so very effeciently, but it's definitely not unheard of or pants on head retarded.
From the Ghastly Eyrie I can see to the ends of the world, and from this vantage point I declare with utter certainty that this one is in the bag!

Dazzle's a special case since the vast majority of people who pub or people who only watch popular pro games hardly see him solo mid. He's pretty high up there if you have a capable player.

During dota 1 a long time ago before dendi was super famous he got clown stomped in mid 1v1 to a relatively unknown player [ I think he was from kazakhstan ] sf vs dazzle. I mean straight dominated. Since then he's had some pretty strong tournament games as dazzle solo mid if you google the games.

Solo mid will vary on what you wanna do, and how to counter it determines what your lane ends up actually being, not fairy tale solo qop/ta/nyx etc... but it boils down to your main tempo hero. Whether its helping other lanes after 6, dominating mid lane and arguably the most important tower, or allowing them to get to a head start that lets them transition to a strong carry/semi-carry.

Armlet toggling is intended and has been in DotA 1 for years. The trick with Armlet+Treads swapping trick is functionally different from DotA 1, and assumed to be a bug until otherwise stated by Valve.

I should find his matches but man, having that record... even that KDA ratio... I sort of hate him. On NEO DotA, wasn't Bulba (or someone else on the show) always talking about how he will stream him destroying everyone with Mepoo and bring out the Mepoo's awesomeness? He may have been beaten to the punch though.

Not to mention the insane KDA ratio. He's seriously dominating games, HARD, with that Meepo play.
