Posts that relate to topics with their own thread, such as in News, Tournaments or Strategy should go in those threads.

What about the Ursa guy? I don't think I've seen him around after that. To be honest I don't think I've ever seen him here outside those small dumb arguments. Did he even play dota?

Dota went into beta a LONG time ago. Some of the newer heroes have indeed made it in by now.
I liked Dota before it was Mainstream.

I want to think that Icefrog simply has too much pride to let anyone else help him balance heroes beyond making suggestions. Its clear he understand how to balance stuff, though it may take him months to years considering Dota 2's history (unacceptable by todays standards).

Dota doesn't care about today's standards

We're talking about Dota 2.

AFAIK only Shredder+Skywrath Mage? Don't remember if DotA 2 was in beta yet when 6.70 came out (Tuskarr).

Well, the point is whether he is on -CM right now but wasn't when Dota 2 launched, so he could be a balance issue when eventually ported, so I would say he definatelly counts. Are Troll and TB in -CM in Dota 1?

Yes. They are. The only heroes that aren't in cm in dota 1 are centaur, pit lord, phoenix and legion commander. (Yes, you can pick drow and faceroll for an easy win).

Oh, also Xin and Zet, don't forget the most broken heroes ever released.

And.. winter wyvern (he sucks tho).. just like new phoenix.

Troll is in CM. IIRC, he was never removed from CM even when he got revamped. TB I don't remember--I know he got added in 6.73, but I can't remember if he got removed when he was re-re-made in 6.75 (I don't think so).

She got removed from DotA 2 -CM, but not DotA 1.

Centaur was in 6.76c, changelog doesn't mention Drow. Doesn't mention the new heroes as well, but it doesn't make sense to enable them on -cm right away.

Nvm, you edited them in afterwards.

TB was readded along with Tuskar in 6.73, and kept there afterwards.

And.. winter wyvern (he sucks tho).. just like new phoenix.

2009 actually considers the Phoenix remake a buff and not a nerf.

Hm, i can see why.. if you chain those fire spirits correctly you can do up to 800 magical damage over 10 seconds and get off a perfect supernova.. but he just feels so useless once the opponent carry gets a bkb. I don't know though, phoenix hasn't seen any real competitive play and i haven't played him much and him being bad is just my opinion from playing some random pubs in 6.75.

Also, you can't move while casting sun ray anymore. Maybe i just miss playing phoenix like it was a flamethrower or something.

What about the Ursa guy? I don't think I've seen him around after that. To be honest I don't think I've ever seen him here outside those small dumb arguments. Did he even play dota?

paralleluniverse? He posts in General, I think.

If Ogre was ranged he'd be good, but he is not.

We already has an intel support tanky hero, we call him Jakiro.

And there´s also dark seer, just as tanky. As is Bane Elemental. As is Visage. As is Batrider.
Being tanky is not a purpose in DotA. Neither is being an intelligence hero.

On PA:
I think in comparison with AM she is far less mobile with Blinkstrike needing a unit to blink to, while that skill also has a higher cooldown until lvl 4. A much less potent mobility skill.
Her Stifling Dagger is a nice slow on low cooldown.

Overall PA is much easier to gank than AM while also farming slower. She carries harder than AM if memory serves right, but her skillset somewhat conflicts her itemchoices. Butterfly and Daedalus overlap with her ultimate and passive, making it less cost efficient choices.
On the other hand AM has synergy with Manta Style as illusion deal feedback damage from his passive skill, making it a better than average choice.

PA needs more time to farm and, unlike AM, she needs to be kept alive by others.
If nobody hates you, you´re doing something wrong. However someone hating you doesn´t make you right

I'm still wondering why ogre sees NO competitive play what so ever.
His stats are good for a support and his stun DOES have a really low cooldown.
Couldn't he work in trilanes where the whole melee support thing doesn't hurt quite as much, or is it really the whole melee thing keeping him from working?

He needs levels. Trilanes = no levels.

When smoke was initially released wasn't he used for dual roaming with VS (or similar strats, some involving enchantress)?
