Why not get a pick up group from the TL channel? Because he is a troll: http://reddit.com/r/DotA2/comments/148fbb/playing_dota2_on_your_own/ Check his history. All he does is complain about russians.

that's how i feel when i play league of legends. days of games where no one works together just to get a single game where things work well. If you make the effort dota isn't lonely, just talk to people and stuff.

While I enjoy playing with others and think it's incredibly important to play with people much better/much worse than you to become a better player in terms of understanding the game in general nothing helps me practice mechanics like solo q. Voicechat can be a huge distraction at times.
As long as you treat things going badly or not the way you want them to like obstacles that you have to overcome and not terrible things that will scar your psyche forever you're gonna be fine.
Also after 9 months of doto 2 I'm finally slowly breaking into the very high bracket when I solo q, HELL YEAH. *happy dance*
Edit: LOL THE ABOVE. I think I started filtering all the complaints I see in this thread about nationalities. It's basically just random QQ anyway; - if it's not the carry who can't lasthit it's the support who doesn't ward or the Russian who feeds. Blaming others makes you feel awesome after all.

I liked TA from TI2, bought an invite and randomed her in my first game. Played her on 40 of 86 games now, I vvonder if I would keep playing if I got a bad hero. The downside is I wanna run around and kill shit with anyone.

I've found the same with mexicans who can speak english. My friend kept calling one of our teammates pedro, because he sounded like pedro from napoleon dynamite. The guy took it great and we had fun that game despite a griefing carry player on our team. We lost, and pedro mentioned "I am sad", but it still ended up being fun. Couldn't be unhappy in that game, since his voice just gave us a good laugh.

haha. i can play 300ms perfectly fine, but i think it's a little worse on east. playing with TL guys is fun, rage less and you're guaranteed to play with at least one person that knows the basics. haha

Eh I got grouped up with a Clinkz (a TLer) that got 0 searing arrows (stats instead), who also complained about Clinkz's mana usage and then says Orchid is a bad item for Clinkz.

with all the complaining about MM and clueless teammates
this is an idea that could be implemented, although i am myself against it, have a set of "trials or campaign" where a player must complete before they can join MM permanentely. this is just to cover the basics of calling missing, warding, couriers and any other basic dota concepts

Making it mandatory is just tedious. Beginners will play it, advanced players will skip it.
