If your entire team stands right on top of the ramp when the enemy team pushes, they won't be able to push. You'll all be in position to fight while they will be blind while you jump them ( as opposed to everyone staying back).
If wr gets good powershots to hit creeps, she can get phase boots and win the lane fast 1v1 (or cause a lot of problems). If she doesn't, she probably loses (well he was saying wr vs lone druid can go either way depending on that).
If DS gets levels early without using up all his consumables, he'll be farmed and cause dominate. And don't use soul ring if full health and mana. And something I observed more than Puppey saying, ds uses vacuum regularly to wittle enemy hp down, as opposed to pure ion shell spam.

Using Soul Ring at full hp/mana gives you an extra 150 buffer mana that gets added onto your base mana pool (IE 500/500 --> 650/650). At the end of the soul ring duration, the base mana total is dropped back to the original, but not your current mana, meaning its quite effective, possibly even more so at full mana than at anything less. There isn't really anything wrong with using Soul ring at full mana, its a common misconception that you don't get any mana out of it, but you do.
The only thing wrong with using Soul ring at full mana is that there's no need. You're taking a risk by using up health and putting it on cd without needing to. You're also benefiting from any mana regen you have by not having full mana. It's only necessary to use soul ring when you're at max mana is if your max mana pool is lower than the mana you need to cast a particular spell.

I'm assuming everyone knows about the mana buffer, but the point is at full mana and hp, is it worth losing health or mana? I usually use the soul ring, but Puppey says otherwise.
And I think people are idolizing the wrong set of Puppey's skills. Lots of (pro) players can mechanically do what he does, but he's so freaking smart that he can cast a game and tell you exactly how they're going to lose before the game even starts, he predicts like every play and opening before it happens. He rattles off a handful of mistakes top pro teams are doing.

I think using soul ring at full hp/mp is better than not (provided you're casting a spell with it of course). Your hp regen is much better than your mp regen, since you have at least 1 hp regen item already (soul ring). I don't understand the argument for not using it, can someone elaborate? So far the only thing I've seen is

which is silly because you're also wasting hp regen by having full hp (and like I said, your hp regen is way better than mp regen). Also CD doesn't matter unless you're planning to cast a series of spells that will entirely drain your mana pool, and I can't think of a single SR user for which that's ever an issue. ever. Yeah. When does cd matter?

The difference between health and mana is that you don't die if you have 0 mana. If you just pop soul ring then you become more vulnerable to dieing from a gank. If the enemy team has any form of mana burn then conserving soul ring for a situation where you actually need it is important. And every SR user is one where mana is an issue. Why would you get one if it wasn't an issue?
Practically speaking in the case of DS, you're often going to complement your Soul Ring with Tranquil Boots. Which means the most likely scenario is going to be popping the Soul Ring, and then popping the Tranquils to heal the Soul Ring self-HP loss. You don't want to leave the Tranquil's off CD for a long time, and if you're full HP, the Soul Ring gives you a way to use the Tranquil's active.

The mana burn example is silly.. your situation only matters if you were manaburned before you casted your spell, and they burned ALL of your mana from near-full during stunlock or something like that. How often does that happen to you exactly?
The hp loss => more likely to die is fair, yet again given your high regen, unless you get ganked in the following 5-10 seconds, it's pretty irrelevant.
