He can be played as a first position solely because of how tidebringer interacts with daedulus and shadowblade, if you build these you get a 1/4 chance of instagibbing the enemy team if they screw up their positioning. It's really a shame. Even in HoN where Shadowblade has an upgrade for even more instagib potential Kunkka doesn't really work...though Fnatic used him in the days of the trilane vs. trilane to great effect.

I don´t get it. I mean they have to give away 1 strength I think, but can´t they give away spiritbreaker, doom or rattletrap?

With regard to the other two--while SB and Doom might be worse heroes, it's easier to be bad at Kunkka.

You cant really run away when you are mana drained now so you are kinda forced to stop it or get outside of xp range. If you have more regen than your opponent, you should be able to force them to use their spells. Most of the time and opponent will not be that dangerous if they do not have any mana, especially early into the game.

My anecdotal evidence. Friend and I play together a ton, always queue in very high games, literally all games in very high over the last 3+ months we've played together. I've been playing a ton of diretide lately, winning and losing is sketchy in this mode as the winner seems to be who last hits rosh in p3. Fast forward about a week of diretide with only a few real games in between (yes item whoring. !_!) So we start playing real games again and we got 3 games in 'Normal' 2 in 'High' and 2 in 'Very High'. Normal? What the hell? 200+ games together with my friend and all have been very high, after a week of diretide we're getting normal and high games? Something doesn't seem right... This scares me as those games we got in were completely awful.
