Adding even more confusion to things is that the names of some spells are changed between games (hell even some heroes are called different things). Best example I can think of being Gondar's E. Shadow walk or wind walk?

Speaking of that.... there's too many shadow- in this game. And almost none overlap in a sensible manner. QoP's shadow strike is a slow/dot, shadow fiend nukes everywhere, shadow demon creates illusions/purges/not-dot-poison/increase damage, shadow shaman is crowd control fest/wards/shock, shadow walk is an invis spell, shadow blade sounds lame but is the same as shadow walk.

If shadowblade must retain the shadow couldn't it be shadow edge instead? Lothar's edge was so much better of a name.

Who would say that? If anything you'd say watch out for that guy's stun. You wouldn't relate it to that enemy heroes hotkey at all. The new player would learn that new hero and find out his stun is Q and relate it himself later on. I wouldn't say 'watch out for that persons T', we'd always say 'watch out for his stun'. There would be no relation in using keys based on spell names or organized in QWER slots in this scenarion you made. The relation would come later when the new player looked into the hero afterward.

You call skills by descriptions in forums out of courtesy, not because "its convient for you", why do people call workers workers in start craft when u can just be like "OMG that toss is down 25 e's" (note how this also has the added advantage of instantly allow you to figure out if its BW or sc2)

That player probably doesn't know what some of the skills do from what they're called either. Storm bolt is pretty obvious (or I could have just played too much wc3), but if you said watch out for that guy's nasal goo I wouldn't know what the hell you're talking about either. The key here is using terms that people will understand. The vast majority of people seem to understand what QWER mean and the people that are bothered by it seem to know what they mean and want to complain about it.

"Look out for that guys's Vicious Nasal Goo" doesn't help either.

Well you'd figure out pretty quickly which skill "Viscous Nasal Goo" is when he casts it once, so you'd know to watch out for it.

You still don't know which skill "Q" is regardless until you play the hero/look him up.

There should be a skill that is worse at rank 3 in all regards than it is at rank 2, but be way better at rank 4.

That is terrible when you can save skill points. Then it just becomes a noob trap

People would just save their skill point and drop both into it. Zeus chain lightning almost fits that description though (rank 3 is barely an improvement on rank 2 but rank 4 is significant).

But is saving that skill point for a level worth not having a rank in another skill/stats!?!?!?!

The best part about saving a skillpoint is that if you really need that skill you can just skill it?

isnt shuriken toss is a non-linear scaling skill? Saving skill points are great, i remember playing doom in war3 and have to save it everytime i eat smthing and lv up. Saving skill point on kunkka for not pushing lane, on Invoker for QW or QE(seen in TI2), on anything vs rubick(especially tinker) bc fuck it, save on Earthshaker for the mana cost.... These are all advance stuff that newb will have to learn eventually once they play the game long enough xD

Oh yeah the old manaburn on Neru Ass is fucking bad on scalling: lv1 90 mana cost and never skill it until last 3 level =))...

Arrg this chen change is so frustrating. I'm used to going ctrl E to level up persuasion, but now that levels up test. Wish there was an option or something to put the send back on the extra spell slot, rather than the persuasion. Level 4 test of faith instead of level 4 creeps is really bad -.- (at least I discovered it in a practice game first, so didn't not get it at level 1).
The only barrier to truth is the presumption that you already have it. It's through our pane (pain) we window (win though).

not using QWER would have solved this problem ^_^, but yeah, Chen's actually marginally stronger lategame tho once people get used to how he works.

Etc etc

So much easier than 'watch out for his Q'.

Them not moving the hotkeys would have solved that problem -.-

You don't really persaude in a teamfight, where you will be sending people back anyway. Not really that much of a buff - even late game the mana is probably more of an issue than the possibility of sending people back while converting. Unless you are talking about the penitence buff, which was a separate change.
The only barrier to truth is the presumption that you already have it. It's through our pane (pain) we window (win though).
