Welp, the only thing that comes to my mind is panda crit. It's really easy to abuse the S trick because you hear the sound of the crits before you hit the creep.

I was mostly joking about the whole thing. When I do it on Brew or CK, it's usually just to make the noise and posture to the enemy like "hey, I have crit sucka foo, step back". Every so often you'll get lucky and let the crit fly, and you'll feel all cool like you did that on purpose...but you know you didn't.

Even though I have auto-attack disabled it doesn't mean I have to stand still all the time. But I don't have to S/strafe spam all the time either.

You shouldn't be standing still, pretty much ever. Especially if you're a melee having to lane against a ranged. Dip in, get a last hit, dip out. Don't ever just stand there. A good ranged will harass you back to base relatively quickly.

I love when people spamming S to last hit creep. I'll just auto attack his ass and make him spend his tango over and over again. WIth good positioning, heroes like puck can punish you so hard with minimum damage taken.

From my experience, I rarely spam S to last hit, but I spam S to deny creep.

I had a pretty good game with void this weekend. My wife babysat me as lich. She got me 3 kills before level 6 and then it just snowballed out of control. This was by far the most GPM I've ever had in Dota or Hon - 866.

Item order was like this:
10 minute treads and MoM
19 minute daedalus
26 minute MKB and Butterfly at the same time.

good vibes only

188 CS at 30 Minutes (and more than 1 hero kill per minute all to himself) makes it fairly obvious that he stopped farming creeps and started farming heroes early enough that the Bfury wouldn't do him much good. I mean, yes, you can splash under chrono, but if they are that grouped up vs a faceless I think you just kinda win anyways XD.

(I'm aware you were being somewhat facetious).

Yes, it was facetious...but at the same time, don't most Void's get Bfury first, like AM? That would mean you had it way before 30 minutes, and that by 30 minutes you probably would have even more than 188 CS.

I mean, really though, he was 32/2/4, I'm not really sure how much it's worth critiquing, hehe.

My point was, while Bfury boosts CS while you farm, if you go 32-2 inside 30 minutes that means you aren't farming, you are killing. No need for Bfury there. FV is much more capable of early-mid teamfighting when compared to an AM, at the cost of slower farm. Bfury FV is like a poor mans AM: I want to farm for ~30 minutes and then end the game 1v5 , only AM does this faster.

Of course, AM comes out of the jungle ready to whack everybody and chase them to death, while FV comes out of the jungle ready to legitimately stun their whole team while killing them all while being incapable of losing a 1v1 manfight to most carries.

Oh derp, I guess I should look at the game clock. It's quite literally 30 minutes. Yeah, I guess at a kill a minute, you really don't need the farm Bfury offers.

Im really bummed that the players Im playing with are so bad I played 92 bot games (1 with each character) and won most of my games and really improved now I feel I am pretty decent and doing well but I am lost a bunch of games because of teamates going1-15 and intentional feeders

does the matchmaking system work like sc2 MMR in that if I keep losing consistently I will never raise to better players ? Or If I continue to grind it out and get some wins even with quite a few losses I will get out of the hell hole ?

It works like sc2, but its okay, eventually you will find yourself carrying games despite feeding teammates because the other team is just as bad. If you just keep hammering at it you will raise yourself to your appropriate mmr, if you want to do it faster then try exclusively playing heroes you are most comfortable with.

The MMR system works. Just keep playing and you'll move where you should be.

It's also possible that you aren't as good as you think, since even 92 bot games isn't enough to learn what playing against real players is like. There are habits and patterns you can get in to with those bot games that would never work against real players.

Not saying "you suck", just pointing out you shouldn't over estimate yourself. Playing against and with real people is completely different. It's good that you know a bit about each hero though.

Also, intentional feeders are pretty rare. If someone is feeding it's almost certainly because they are new or just bad. Most intentional feeders I've seen will make a habit of announcing it in some way, because the entire thing is meant to be a troll. They want a reaction from you, so they are going to make sure to provoke you in some way.

It utilizes MMR/ELO. What that means is, every time you lose, the game marks you as a worse player than it thought you were before the game. And every time you win, the game marks you as a better player than it thought you were before the game.

If you go on a streak, the game gets more "uncertain" about your skill and it will change your MMR more until your streak ends. By and large, number of games played doesn't figure in to your MMR either.

MMR is hidden, so you can't tell how high or low your MMR is. The most accurate way to "check" is to look through the live games while you are playing to find yourself. The games are sorted by Average MMR (front page being highest) Admittedly, completely average players might be as much as 600 pages deep so this isn't necessarily practical, but until you are page 1-10, most of the time there is always something you could have done better to impact the game (although obviously it is easier for your team to throw than it is for you to dominate).

Keep in mind,
a) beating bots is better than some people (my friends from LoL XD) but the vast majority of the community crush bots with one hand.
b) your teammates are also often people who are just starting, and may not have put in all those bot games that you did.

For newer players I still recommend finding a respectful, semi-decent player to queue with for a while to get the hang of stuff and to take the sting out of bad games.

I think the Matchmaking system is fine because I made a new account to play with friends that are new to game and got to very high in 5-6 games.

You can also check your approximate MMR by using the replay search feature. Search for your name, then in the Skill drop down select Normal, High or Very High. It's not perfect, but it gives you an idea of the level of games you're getting placed in to
