That website says my International Vice of the West is worth 5 keys. If I could find someone trading for 3 I would in a heartbeat.

Its available in the shop, so it won't trade for anymore than the price valve sells it at.

I want to apologize for the aggressive tone of my anti Midas post. Rereading it I sound(read?) really worked up.

Midas may not be always bad, but imho it´s far from always good. Broodmother as hero focused ony splitpushing(as I understand the chinese teams mostly did) is not farm dependent to push, but still farm dependent to stay relevant for lategame, so Midas makes sense along this line of reasoning.
My opinion still stands that playing double midas along with a doombringer pick sealed the NaVi-Empire game very early.
They had the Midases before 13 minutes at which point Furion only had half a mekansm and a midas. By this point the score was already something lopsided like 9-2. They couldn´t properly fight back because buying a Midas at the very least sets your items back ~13 minutes. An earlier mek would have helped a lot more.

You can just go to the recent games tab on the client and sort replays by very high skill and hero.

I extremely agree with the statement regarding furion, he had such an early level 6 + a few kills. He could have gone a super fast mek and teamfights might have been very different.

Instead by going midas he just gave up all his advantage, however i would say jungle prophet has to go midas if you start in jungle and don't get that much xp/gold from ganks.

doom with midas was fine IMO cause he was their "farmer" and it is not like he could go something else.

didn't xboct get midas on void in the TI2 finals? i think he got first blood and was free farming. makes sense because void actually benefits a lot from the extra attack speed.

According to dotabuff winrate 6.75 Morphling have the lowest winrate, under Meepo in the current patch.
That plus the fact that he ain't in competitive play anymore.
Did Icefrog perhaps nerf him to much? :p

Morphling did need a nerf, no doubt. Just went into wrong direction.
The increased cost of e-blade and morph might have been enough already. However I still think, that the morph mechanics should have been the only thing, that should have been changed about him. Make it stop when being silenced or stunned and also not being able start morphing when you're stunned. And suddenly: Morphling is a fine hero.

#Edit: Also could someone please provide VODlinks to the alienware match of TongFu and LGD? Can't find them for some reason.

About the GDB team. What do you guys think is going to happen to them? stick together? Join Liquid (<3)? Disband? Sing and bamboe open a bussiness? kky becomes a full time caster with tobi?

Juding by how kky appeared on stream and talked about his team I actually expect them to stick together. Maybe in a different constelation as black^ is a member of nth, but then again it's a 6-man roster and officially there are no contracts involved yet [not implying there are any, just pointing that out. Don't know anything further]
I really expect them to stick together for some more. Also going by how kky, sing and bamboe are, when they are pubbing together, judging by sing's stream they seem to get along really well. And if you have a team, who are good friends but at the same time are able to achieve good results I don't see why they shouldn't stick together as a team. As long as every is still interested in competetive Dota2 of course.

Alot of my friends who recently started playing dota 2 are complaining about the engine being slow, sluggish and/or unresponsive compared to hon/lol. Do you guys agree with this or is it simple just animations being like twice as long in dota 2?

Is it an issue that the game feels this way in 2012 or is it just there to make the game more difficult at a mechanical level?

Animations/spell cast timing are part of the game balance and the way it works. Streamlining every animation would make the game retarded. Just look at how Batrider has improved by such a significant amount by changing his turn rate and giving him a strength buff.

It also makes each hero more unique and diverse.

It isn't. What they perceive as "sluggish" are most likely the turnrates and animations which are part of the balance in DotA. If you for example compare it to animations in League those are much more streamlined and similar between individual champions.

The artificial lag that was part of the beta at some early point has (thankfully) been removed entirely.

Its not like lol or hon has done that either, atleast in lol every animation is different, its just more responsive and crisp.

And they just dont mean the attack animations, just the way a hero responds when moving around or when using abilities etc feels slower and more delayed.

I guess they are coming from either HoN or LoL. Because then yes, it indeed feels slow.

What you have to know is, that each one of the 110 heroes have unique animations. Be it castanimation, attack / attack point, turning rate, BAT, projectile speed, backswing and whatnot, while in HoN [not sure about LoL] for example there are 2 "animationsets": Melee and ranged.

However when not comparing it to other DotA-genre games and to other games in general it's really hard to say. It's about what other games you are used to. For example, when I started SC2 I felt that each individual units response time and animations etc. almost felt like instant, when comparing it to what I am used to, which was DotA.

Turn rate is probally the biggest reason for it, and HoN and LoL don't have it afaik. It's part of the balance for Dota and it would really change the game if it were removed. Casting times also are pretty important in Dota, with a huge diference from low cast point heroes to high cast point heroes. LoL doesn't have that, or at least it isn't important enough to show on the heroes page on the main site. Attack animations are just one of the reasons new people to Dota have that feeling.

So no, LoL and HoN haven't done it, not to the point Dota has at least. How important that is is up to you, a lot of people dislike it when trying out Dota but it's a part of the game that isn't going away.

Don't have enough experience to surely tell if its easier in dota 2, but more woods/jungle and high ground to block LoS probably helps more with kiting VS having flash at level 1 and slightly crisper movement?
