Buying midas gives up so much momentum. With a weaker early game you get less kill/gank potential, less map control, meaning you actually can farm less with a midas because the other team can just run up and kill your team. Why did Empire get Midas on Doom and Furion. It makes no sense. Furi could have got the Mek 10 minutes earlier, Doom could have actually mattered in any teamfight ever if he had bought real items instead of Midas. Sorry, I´m a bit pent up about Midas because in my terribad Guide all the comments are "herp derp get a midas on naix to so rokcz". I think it would have been better if I had written a guide about the concept of momentum, but I don´t really feel I am able to do the importance of the concept justice with my subpar writing skills. Basically in a serious DotA game there is continual pressure, and the team that loses the ability to be threatening will get hilariously outplayed like Empire. Ars-Art got a fucking Sange&Yasha on Bane and Dendi built a Manta Style on Pudge, at one time fountainhooking his own illusion. Midas is the "I lose button", I tell you.

Worth it for me @_@ its not really about that, Starladder was only 2 euros 39 cents and compared to 6 euros 49 I will probably still buy it /split it with someone though because I am a fan of the teams playing flamewheel

When two people on a team get it against a team riding on mid game strength/push with Pudge/Bat/Chen/Bane/CK, it becomes silly. If you're untouched in the jungle, left to your own devices with 4 other strong midgame heroes in your team against a team that is unlikely to attempt to exert midgame dominance, midas becomes an excellent option. It's a situational item, just like any other.

It's a situational item, just like any other. I just don´t see such a specific situation. Your team is strong enough to make up for you buying a midas. That is possible. But how likely is it that getting a proper item instead of Midas would not dramatically increase your chance to win? A Midas itself adds 30 IAS. In a vacuum, it needs 13-18(being generous here) minutes to pay for itself. People play 4 protect 1 and the game is often decided by how fast the 1 can get his core up. During TI2, it was often AM that would farm for 25-30 minutes before getting his core up. Midas, at its very best, puts your item progression on a halt for 10 minutes. If you force your team to play 4v5 for 10 minutes and then only show up with the exact same items(+30 IAS) you would have had without midas, that´s a pretty terrible situation. Tell me a single situation were Midas allows you to win a game, but no other item would allow you to win it more convincingly. I just don´t see it. People don´t play that passive anymore.

Dude every single chinese brood at TI2 got midas. Just because it isnt good on all heroes doesnt mean that it doesnt have a place in the game. I dont think you want to imply that TI2 was not a serious dota competition and the chinese teams were hilariously outplayed, because that wouldnt go so well for you. Firebolt1337 already said that it is a situational item, that is exactly what it is. Just leave it at that, you dont need to tell us why you think midas is the "I lose button" because there are plenty of situations where it augments your farm positively.
