Surprises me to hear Ret of all people say that Flash is so good because of his multitasking. That is not the reason at all why he's the most dominant player of all time (well, it's a factor, but not the biggest one).

Well his good management of economy and macro also requires multitasking . So it's not entairly untrue . His knowledge of the game and multitasking is why he is dominating . He won't be able to dominate if he couldn't execute his attacks the way he does and macro perfectly at the same time .

Ret seems like such a nice guy. It's a shame he hasn't done better in the GSLs. I mean, he has done better than any other foreigner besides IdrA and Jinro, but his potential is just as good as theirs. It's a shame that it just didn't work out for him.

Much love for Ret. Good interview.

So nice to listen to Ret give interviews. He's so calm and collected all the time, very thoughtful responses. Thanks!

It of course requires multitasking, but Flash's 90% winrate in PL does not come from him being that much faster than everyone else.

Aww, too bad he didn't know his opponent was actually Jjob (or whatever you want to call him). Would've been nice to see what he thought about him and his chances.

in fact, Flash's multitasking is not even really better than many of the top players, or even worse. Kal, Bisu, Jaedong, Baby and Really have shown off better multi-tasking skills than Flash (Baby actually destroying Flash in a multitasking war in a TvT). Flash's true dominance comes from his perfect micro and his game-sense/planning being ahead of the rest of the scene... and even when the rest of the scene catches up to him, he will still have his godly micro (In a sense, Fantasy could be as dominant as Flash if it were not for his sometimes suspect decision-making and weaker micro in TvZ)

Much love to Ret and SK for giving us an insightful interview. I honestly wish Ret still played BW, perhaps he would be able to make something happen. Best of luck to him in GSL!

I agree but I think you guys are reading too much into his answer. I'm sure Ret of all people can appreciate how good Flash is. It was just an on the spot answer and he said something that would be more easily understood by people than something more abstract. It's not like Flash's multitasking is actually second tier ... people make too much of a few games where he may have been slightly out multi tasked but with Flash everything gets magnified. When Flash out multitasks opponents we barely notice because he's just winning like he always does.

I thought Ret's answers were incredibly honest and truthful, at all times keeping a good perspective on the reality of the Korean scene vs. the foreigner scene yet still demonstrating his passion and committment to the game. Well done Ret!

Ya it was super confusing to hear such a stupid remark from such a good player.

Maybe he meant prioritizing, like flash always knew exactly where to focus at all times.
Why would I play sctoo when I can play BW?

Awesome interview! Really enjoyed hearing Ret's take on everything. Hope he has more success in SC2 soons.

@Everyone talking about the flash multitasking:
If Ret says Flash' multitasking is great, are a bunch of nobs going to say that's wrong? Flash has amazing multitasking, it's just not his only strength, and yes other players can match him in that, but they can't overcome his decision making in combination with that.
Reminder?
