BW became that popular because of the female audience. If you look up the stats, the females made up 70% or 80% of the followers of BW. To be able to reach the female population Star2 needs to get on bigger Korean channels, or it will die. Is this channel too big to attract the females? I do not know, but I hope.

Looks very promising! Anything that brings SC2 further publicity is a really good thing! I know it is already, but let's hope that this news helps western SC2. Tournament sponsors and broadcasters can now look at Korea and say, hey SC2 is on TV now, on a fairly popular channel, maybe we should do that too. Or at the very least give them additional incentive to sponsor more tournaments and give bigger prize pools, if not put it on TV themselves.

Yes, this is a crucial point. In addition to females, BW appealed to people on a casual level; i.e. people who aren't playing 'seriously' on ladder or iCCup. I hope anibox can get some good TV talking heads for SC2, because half the excitement from watching progaming comes from the announcers.

This means the commentators should have to pass a test. The basis of the test would be to check if the commentators can yell

'STTORRRMMM'

'CHOGULING'

and 'CARRRRIEERRRR'

effectively to a point where people get riled up.

Hopefully, MBC Game and OGN might consider picking up SC2 once all the KeSPA vs Blizzard legal drama is done. If not, hopefully another high profile channel will.

If you have Qook internet/tv service in korea, they show the games in HD on Channel 1 at random times. even though i already saw the games live, i was able to catch jinro's matches yesterday on my big screen.
