1) It prevents gas rushes as you're taking your gas far before he can even has the chance to scout you, even if you're playing a P that likes to scout with one of his first four probes. And since they're sacrificing so much economy just to gas rush, taking your gas slows them down so much. Take that, gas rusher 2) As many have said, it allows you to research burrow, so against 2 gaters, you can burrow your drones so you don't lose any. You lose one drone building the extractor, so as long as burrow saves you more than 1 drone, it's already worth it. So all you zergs that lose atleast 1 drone in a given game, don't laugh at this tactic, it would make your economy greater by saving drones | ||

I mean while you´re making the Extractor you can scout with all the rest of the drones, then come back and mine the gas empty. At that point you have huge loads of gas and you can do as gas heavy build as you can imagine. You also have valuable scouting info! I read the this thread and thought it would be about how 4 bases with gas was good against terran - which I would have said DUHHHHHH LOL NOOB, and left. Instead, I now have a 100% winning rate on iccup with the 4 gas drone burrow manner hatchery sunken rush. | ||
