Probably not with that resolution. You would definitely need a new graphics card. I would invest in a better CPU instead of more RAM.

Overkill for sc2. One question though. Why is your desktop resolution so low o.O

prolly becaus i have small fuckt up screen ^^ and i need to buy a new 1

I think I'm good, for a mobile processor the GTX 260M is a beast.

I really hope this can run it ok. After browsing through this thread, it seems like it might be a bit of a stretch for my 9500gt, so, if it's out of the question, I'm just wondering what kind of upgrade would be realistic for my rig.
Note- People have mentioned that the 9500GT can't handle most modern games. I can run pretty much every new release on mid-high settings with no noticeable problems.

Laptop : (Asus G-73-X1, I got it for $1440 before newegg raised price to $1559 lmao) i7 720 QM, ATI Mobility Raedeon HD 5870, 1920x1080 resolution, 8 GB DDR3 1333mhz, Windows 7
Desktop: i7 920 OC @ 3.2 GHZ, 9800 GT, 4 GB DDR3, Vista.
Sad how my laptop outperforms my desktop right now :[ At least its upgradeable, the only thing I payed for was the x58 mobo + i7 chip, rest was just reused hardware.

Yeah, you're going to need a new rig :o

its only 6 years old and was super cheap at best buy when i got it.

Okay, this is my rig. As you can see my resolution is really god damn low. That's because I just upgraded my actual computer and not my screen, something which I will have to do in a near future. So what do you say, apart from the desktop resolution, is this computer good enough to run SC2? Personally I'm a bit confused about wether or not the graphics card will be able to deliver... Well, lay it on me brothers!

any 48xx AMD card will shine like a diamond at that resolution. I hope you're ready for high settings

good for 1080p?

Would this be enough to run SC2?

I'm pretty sure I should be able to play this game, not sure if at high settings though. But what would you guys recommend for new videocard thats under $200?

Under $200 will not give you a noticeable increase...at least nothing that's worth $200. If you're willing to spend $300 then sure, but I doubt you'll even notice much performance increase in SC2 esp. since your desktop resolution is a little low. 4850 will easily max SC2 at that resolution esp since I'm able to comfortably play at 1920x1200 maxed with a very high frame rate with my 4870 1GB. Upgrade if there are other games you want to play.

I basically just care about playing SC2 to be honest, but thanks for the advice. ^_^

Let me guess, there is no one playing the beta or watching replays atm who has an Athlon XP..?
