allow me to step in here for a bit to advertise the most exciting derby weeks the bundesliga has to offer since i don't know when. the hamburger sv and werder bremen will play a best of 4 within 19 days in 3 different competitions. starting tonight with the semifinal of the dfb pokal (the german league cup). the uefa cup semifinals on the 30.4. and 7.5. and in the bundesliga on the 10.5. i know most of you guys are fans of the currently strongest, the premiere league and probably don't care much for the bundesliga but i'll still give you some background infos on why this is a special occasion for german football. the rivalry between the clubs is currently only surpassed by the one between schalke and dortmund. so getting the chance of beating (or losing to) the most hated opponent 4 times is making people on both sides crazy. werder bremen has arguably been the number 1 northern club in germany the last 10 years. playing champions league almost every season, winning the league and the cup while hamburg has done not that much (playing chl twice). this season the tables have turned. hamburg is 3rd in the league 3 points behind 1st place wolfsburg and tied with 2nd place bayern, while bremen sits 18 points behind hsv in 10th place. hamburg could win 3 titles this year while bremen could destroy their dreams and save a bad looking season with 2 possible titles (one win would also allow them to play the uefa europa league next season). so whoever wins tonight will have the mental advantage for the next games but every single one will be a big fight and hopefully great games. it starts in 1 hour gl hf. | ||

Perhaps it's just mind games, but I distinctly remember how good that went for Benitez earlier in the year... Anyhow, United should win the PL today and then they can just rest and prepare for the CL Finals. | ||
