United need to lose both games (Arsenal@United and United@Hull) while Liverpool need to win both of theirs (Pool@WBA and Spurs@Pool) for them to lift the trophy at seasons end, which I just don't see happening. Perhaps it's just mind games, but I distinctly remember how good that went for Benitez earlier in the year... Anyhow, United should win the PL today and then they can just rest and prepare for the CL Finals. it's not completely inconceivable, arsenal can of course beat united. which leaves hull fighting for their premiership lives at home, and they tend to win important late season matches, no? ![]() liverpool on the other hand, albion is the much harder game imo. they are in good form and are also playing for their premiership lives, however if they take the 3 points there, spurs don't have lennon or palacios and presumably will lose to city today and thus have nothing to play for.

I'm hoping this wasn't Carlos Tevez' final game at Old Trafford. I know he's too good to be a bench player and I knew his role would be minimized after they bought Berbatov, but I would hate to see him suiting up for any other team, especially a team like Madrid. I'm glad the fans showed great support after he was subbed today and it really shows just how much they love him. And uberMatt, Arsenal could have beaten United but I'm glad they didn't. I still think United would have defeated Hull in a rout because it would have been an equally important game for them. Both fighting for their lives with different goals in mind and United would have proven their dominance in quality, no doubt.

I always considered Benitez a serious manager who wouldn't get into these whole mind games thing. He hardly ever spoke out much from what I remember. It all began around Jan. when 'Pool were top, but it all went downhill after he spoke out on SAF and refs. The success really went to his head, it seems. He should have kept his composure instead of talking out on every paper/interview. I still remember many pundits saying Benitez made a mistake calling out SAF because now all the pressure was on Liverpool. They went on a terrible stretch of games after that which saw them get a draw in all three PL games that month, effectively killing their title ambitions.

They had their share of injuries in that 3rd year, the year Cech received his head injury iirc, I'll give them that. But United weren't injury-free this season either. To keep this consistency is rather amazing in itself. I'm hoping this wasn't Carlos Tevez' final game at Old Trafford.
