I simply think the new idea is interesting because if one loses a penalty shootout, they'd have the chance to make up in the extra time. Only what I might miss is the suspense but at least I think the loser will feel satisfied for losing and not cry that much.

lol, I can so see David James in this american variation and tackle down every player who attempt to dribble pass him and leave the ball at peace.

OMG red card for Stekelenburg (keeper), great. :/ He did tackle the attacker pretty hard but goddamn, 1-1 after the penalty.

Ugh, England were saved by Joe Cole, and beat Andorra 2-0 (only T_T). Holland lost 1-2 to a a 10 man Australia, and France lost 1-3 to Austria. Pretty horrible showing form the top couple international sides today. Only Germany seemed remotely good, except for Klose playing like hes drunk, which has pretty much been the norm for the past year.

edit: after watching a replay of Italy v Cyprus, i've decided that Di Natale is an insane striker. Get rid of Gila, Toni, and Cassano and just field Di Natale pls Lippi.

If you had whatched the whole match you'd be still wondering how Italy won this, near the end even the casters were saying that Cyprus deserved more than just a tie, but in injury time we scored the winner

I attended the Spain 1 - Bosnia 0. With Silva and Torres injured and Cazorla harmed we played with Capel in (fast dribbling winger wanted by Barça and Madrid). With every ball he took he started a slaloom with more or less bad outcomes. He got a penalty that Villa missed. When he was replaced by Cazorla and Xavi Alonso gave more freedom to Xavi, the outclassing started.

The goal was a piece of art by Villa shooting without angle after dribbling the keeper.
I've been around since it all started, and it feels good

about the penalty shootouts...i remember watching a football show on star sports some years back and the alternative was taking off a man every minute hahaha...i can't remember what he said exactly but in essence that's how it came across...

Yes, but i decided to comment on Lippi playing Gila and Toni upfront, who both failed miserably. Toni is getting a bit old imo.

Interesting games for tomorrow(today for some);

sweden - hungary
finland - germany
portugal - denmark
italy - georgia
france - serbia
croatia - england (!!!! )
peru - argentina
brazil - bolivia

My predictions;
sweden > hungary
finland < germany

croatia >< england (What a rival match, this time I predict a tie)
peru >< argentina
brazil > bolivia

You refuse to predict Portugal - Denmark because the outcome is so obvious?
