If the picture was posted in a GG news i would understand the reason the hobo did that, but since it was in a thread, and posted by some random user, i got mad and decided to post this as an act of public humilliation. TL makes pictures and w/e yes, but does TL get any profit from them? Doesn't an URL show up when you right click on a picture saying http://TEAMLIQUID.NET/etc/etc? Those pictures are acts of free public service, i'm not paying you to make them, so why go gay over it and demand that no other site uses them? Retarded. | ||

GosuGamers once almost literally transscribed a news post of mani's, even using the same pictures. So now, when you direct link to pictures on TL's server from GosuGamers, they get replace by that paint picture edit: proof: if you go to the link he provided to GG first, you get to see the paint writings, if you visit this first you get to see the real picture | ||

As vGI-CoW has said, bandwidth isn't free and this is not an image hosting site. How did you know that that was done intentionally and not by a "server rule" that redirects hot-linked images to that "paint picture"? | ||

We understand your concern for TL looking professional, but it was outweighed by the annoyance of GG.net being oblivious to our requests. Just watermark your pictures from now on and learn from your mistakes, in the end, we're all humans and thus not perfect. But remember that Manners > All, I imagine what a football team would do to someone who stole their property, stuff, etc if they didn't act professionally, or what the National Destructive Weapons Association would do. | ||

As people have said bandwidth is not free; why wouldn't you (or them) just link to their article? If people are too lazy to do that, they get what they deserve (and it could be farrrrrrr worse). | ||

there's code that makes the image appear as that mspaint writing if its loaded in gosugamers.net for people who went to this blog before they went to that gosugamers.net page, the image loads normally, it hadn't been changed manually. and after that image is in their cache, it'll appear normally even on the gosugamers page. the converse is also true. if someone goes to the gosugamer page and sees that no-hotlinking paint image, it'll save in their cache as that image and if they view it in tl.net, as you did, it'll still appear as the paint image. don't believe me? clear your cache, refresh this page, then go to the gosugamers page. the mspaint was never switched in to personally humiliate that one user, but its a cover-all anti hotlinking code against gosugamers.net in general. it's an easier solution than watermarking because the code only has to be written in once instead of like a watermark placed on every single image captured by tl.net that is all | ||

I think this will go in no other way than to just piss of each side or humiliate anyone further. Yes, some editors took up on the habit of copying pics from TL.net, TL.net made fun of us over that. Not a professional way imo, but we were at fault from the start so we can't really argue about it. Unfortunately it affected a random gg.net user, but that is more funny and stupid for tl.net than anything else. No need to keep fighting over it. | ||
