The Ardent Mantles seem like they are the conceptual precursors to the Mystic's Disciplines. Whether the full Psionics release will have a pure Psionics user akin to the Psion (which would likely have d6 HD and no armor proficiencies like a Wizard, as opposed to the Mystic's d8 and Light+Medium armor proficiencies) remains to be seen. Personally I like the Mystic and think there are a lot of interesting concepts from previous iterations adapted into it, but would be pretty disappointed if they don't release a full-advancement Psionics user. | ||

Though to me, the best part of Psionics are the Psionic monster races (Illithids, Gith, Duergar, etc.), so what I'm more interested in the full release is how WotC develops the lore for those. | ||
