Did you have darker blood in your feces? Also, when I get up from the toilet, sometimes a few drops of blood can drop, bright red again. Just wondering if you had that happen... I'm getting a bit worried right now :/ If the blood comes AFTER you have finished then it's probably benign so do not worry, if the blood comes as the same time as stools and is mixed with it then it may be more serious and you should see a doctor. What you have it probably hemorrhoids or smthing else not serious.
Anyway, gl to TB

Please don't give medical advice to people on the internet to reassure them. People can easily have haemorrhoids and experience some bright red blood in their stool, which masks bleeding from other sinister causes such as cancer.
Go and see a doctor face-to-face. This is coming from a doctor. An experienced clinician can examine for anal fissures or haemorrhoids which are both spot-diagnoses, and then decide whether or not you should be further investigated with blood tests and colonoscopy.

Exactly this. I almost didn't go because I managed to convince myself it was just haemorrhoids. Don't do that. Knowledge is power.

TB, good luck with your surgery!! Surgery is an ordeal, certainly, but it's pretty easy to make the best of it. The most important thing is to have a FUN outlook during the recovery process! Let your wife spoil you with your favorite foods, your choice of movies, etc. Rest and be happy, and follow doctor's orders to the letter; you are going to be totally fine.
You've caught it early and won't have to take any shit from that 2cm fucker much longer.
Godspeed!!!!
