Congrats to State. It's a rare occasion when a foreigner joins a Korean team, and I hope that it suits both parties well. He's certainly not going to get worse from joining a KeSPA team.

The reddit thread he made made it seem like he has not yet joined prime, but maybe he will if he gets better. Then your summary doesn't necessarily say he joined the team. Is the title an assumption or does it actually say in the translation he joined prime?
I really hope his time in the Prime house helps him a lot. So far the "Korea buff" we expect foreigners training in Korea to get is not as large as I'd hoped. I have a good feeling about this though. He probably won't be seen in tournaments for a while now but when he does reappear look out

Pretty sure State himself can't say that he joined Prime unless an official announcement came out first. Here it is.

it is a little tricky because the article doesn't explicitly say that he's a prime member... for example in the first paragraph it says that he's included on the prime roster for the upcoming round 2 of proleague. the article also gave a little shoutout to fruitdealer lol
Although I don't think he'll get to play in PL it' still a huge thing for him, being on a korean team and getting to practice day in and day out with guys like byun creator and mkp is a huge boon for every foreigner, even if prime is pretty much the worst team in korea right now. Nearly every foreigner who got this teamhouse experience for a extended time improved a lot.
That's great for State if it makes him happy and fulfilled, but I fear he won't be able to make a whole lot of money, at least not for a while (that's my opinion, though).

Being top GM in kr isn't as impressive as people might think. At least it isn't as much as it was in wol. There is a big lack of people playing in the servers on Korea, so simply there is more room for players on the gm list than there was before.
I'm not trying to diminish his ability, but I think we should judge him on his games rather than his rank on the Korean server.
i'm pretty sure the main method of korean progamers to practice is still ladder, even kespa teams. sure you can get top 50 GM with sub 50% win rates, but it shows that at least you're not bad

I'm not saying he is a bad player, I think Gm in any server is still an achievement, but we shouldn't put so much weight into ladder rankings. We shouldn't assume this guy will be the next savior of foreigners in starcraft 2 only because he is top 50 gm on korean server.
I think its best to wait until we see him play to really judge his skill.
nothing i like more than seeing a foreigner compete in the korean scene. GL to him, hope he trains hard and we manage to see him in proleague someday :D
Wow, that must be such a dream situation for State! Can't wait to see some results pooping up from this kid real soon, I mean he's been showing great dedication to do good.
