All right. In early February, my car was totalled by a drunk driver who hit me at 7:45 in the morning while I was on my way to school. He hit my driver's side front door, knocking me into a ditch. My kneecap was shattered with several torn ligaments and ripped tendons, my ribs were heavily bruised, and I had a huge huge gash on my right forearm from where I fell into the glass (yes I was wearing seatbelt). The driver of the other car (truck) and his passenger were both put into ICU for a week. The drunkenness must have remained on them a few weeks after because they had the balls to say it was my fault, which was quickly proven wrong. I got my settlement, they got their prison time.
I flew to Tampa to a surgeon my doctor recommended me to, and he said it was very very unlikely I would walk again. But he put a plate under my kneecap and some sort of (bad english) adhesive? to try and keep the shards of my kneecap together. I was in rollerzia mode for about 6 months, then moved up to crutches (which I've been on ever since). A few weeks ago, I went back to my surgeon and he said my knee was drastically improving (wolverine, folks. wolverine). I was informed that I may yet be able to walk by August/September of 2007 as long as I kept pressure off my knee.
Today, Thursday, September 7, my friend was driving me home from school, and some jackass pulls out in front of us to turn into a gas station. We're going 50-55 mph in our lane and he's going about 30 while turning. He stops in the middle of our lane 20 feet away, and there's no amount of turning that could clear us and no amount of brakes he wasn't already applying that could stop the car. Head-on collision. My friend's head hit the steering wheel and he was knocked back with a broken nose. Still wearing my seatbelt, I was jerked forward hard enough for my knee to ram straight into the console. The pain from a flame hitting me in the face and my left arm and the pain from my knee were the last things I remembered before I blacked out. I woke up in the hospital a couple of hours later to a doctor telling me that everything that happened according to the police report. I have really bad whiplash, a bad cut under my left eye, my left arm is very burnt and swollen, and my left leg is officially permanently out of commission, including an amplified version of what happened to my kneecap in February and lots of other fractures.
I'm going to be in and out of the hospital for the next few weeks. I just thought this event was important enough to share in case anyone starts looking for me.
Edit: I'm still really shaken up right now, so I hope this all made sense.
That really really sucks. I have absolutely nothing of value to offer you, no advice really owns up to an experience like that. How will you get around now? Will you opt for crutches or is it permanently rollerzia?
How can I read this and not say anything.. Get well Zia, it is unfortunate how life could take dramatic turns for the worst. I hope you keep your heads up and stay strong.
Don't worry too much. The younger you are, the faster you'll heal, so if you're young enough to still be in school, you'll be amazed at the progress you'll make. Just take good care of your knee, and maybe you should stay off the roads for a while! I'm rooting for you!
That really blows, sorry to hear that for sure. If u somehow beat the odds like u did last time and they say you have a chance of walking do yourslef a favour and never leave home.
And it's terrible that money can't solve something like this. I would imagine suing someone for all they're worth will never replace what you've lost, and for that you have my deepest sympathy. And worst of all, it was right as you were getting your legs back. I feel awful for being as lucky as I am.
Not that you knew me, but good luck in the future. We're with you
it's too bad they'll give a driver's license to anybody over 16 with a few bucks that can see out of the corners of their eyes. WAYYY too many douche bags out there.
Well, I guess on the bright side, you're still alive, and haven't been irreversibly-injured anywhere else. I think you still have a lot left to do in your life, with many fun experiences awaiting you. Heck, in the long run I bet your life will be just as enjoyable with or without that leg. So no worries: everything will be just dandy in the end!
I really hope your recovery goes well. If you get bored sitting around with nothing happening, then I can try to be funnier on TLnet or something. But seriously, I hope the nex few weeks go smoothly, and I hope you'll be okay. (I have a feeling that you will be)
On the bright side, since school is probably out of the question for a while (unless I can get internet access for schoolwork or a professor to come to my house) and I'm no longer working at the gym, I'm going to have all the time in the world to play and fuck all of you up in bw now. Bitches.
On a more serious note, I'm grateful for your condolences (Sp?). It still hasn't really hit me yet. I know the facts, but it just hasn't had time to sink in. Forgive me if I start acting funny.
That is awful. For what it's worth, I hope your leg mends. And if it the doctor's estimate is correct, try to keep good spirits. For a much needed laugh in dark times, I look to the quote in my sig.
holy shit, that sucks... please get well and take care of yourself!! never give up, remember, many important persons in history have had difficult paths to follow, and remember what doesnt kill you makes u stronger, I dont know you but by surviving all these situations and being in an anemic normal state, thats something to look up to, Kudos for you!

There are no facts; if you have the will to walk, it will happen.

I wish you the best of luck and I am sure you'll be walking again.
Good luck
Actually, getting a "leg upgrade" might be an option. But, like in SC, I'm sure it will be expensive =/.
Hopefully it is an option so that in the future, when she can afford it, she can choose to walk again. (and we'll probably have more advanced citadels of adun by then, too)
I'm sure it wouldn't be necessary to live a full life. But knowing the choice is (or will be) there will definitely help.
Zia I don't know you on a personal level, and probably never will. But your story moved me in a way few things ever will, especially when the events are supposedly detatched from my actual life.
Please stay strong, because we are all creatures of our mind, and you are clearly no less capable than before in that regard.
geez this shit just made me feel really bad, i feel sry for you zia, hope you dont let all this make you too depressed, must be so fucking annoying when you got such bad luck ;/
Holy fuck monkey balls. I always try to avoid cars as much as possible, especially if I'm not confident in the route / driver if I'm not driving. I always thought of cars (in terms of traffic) as one fucked up joke. I'd easily rather slam somewhere full speed on my bike than have a total idiot be the cause of my accident.
What a shame, I remember reading about your previous accident, and now this? You should just avoid cars if possible.
well since your brother is the guitarist of sonata and you had singing lessons of that nightwish girl, i dont believe you >.< thats what lying does -_- anyway gl with yer legs
So sorry to hear that Zia...I actually have no idea who you are actually but it's a terrible ordeal to have gone through. I'll offer a few points of consolation.
-My best friend a few years ago was almost killed by an oncoming truck. Despite significant injuries sustained, he improved dramatically later on and nowadays seem to be doing better than any of us.
-Shit happens to the best of people, but getting through this experience can help you brave any other challenges later in life.
-Next time you get on the road, drive a fucking 18-wheeler.
Zia, you're as tough as the mountain stone. I will stab the bastard who spins the twisted wheel of fate for you though. Not that you needed one, but now you have an excuse to RPG-whore it up. My apologies for the poorly timed levity and comments. But figured they were Zia-ish, and was only out of hope to bring a smile to your face.
I do not doubt you can overcome this injustice life has thrown at you, but I hope it does not for a moment cloud or depress your indominitable spirit. I suspect it hasn't, as you may have come to terms with it already suggested by the levity in your post (and your past). But do not let any new sense of hopelessness overwhelm you. It already has been and will be hard in the coming days. But persevere. You are smart and strong willed and a joy to all peoples lives you touch.
damn that sucks, but just to tell you nothing is 100%....you can go search up on google, unexplained things happen(IE: Person with Ganggreen was going to get his legs amputated, but on the following morning of the surgery, it was cured, some how his ganggreen was gone)
I really feel sorry for you......stay stong and don't give up....you'll pull through......I wish you the best and hope that your future is bright and that there'll be light at the end of the tunnel
hey Zia, you probably dont remember me, maybe, i use to chill in C)c- under RomeoMontague, but i knew you for a couple of weeks and you were awesome
I can't even imagine the world of shock i would be in. i can only offer my best wishes and to remember you're still an amazing person, have a great taste in music, and you'll still have great stories of finding scorpions and other crazy shit, and much more that's not going to change.
dont let the doctors tell you what you can and cant do, they are wrong about alot of things, if you put your mind to it eventually you can get through and walk again. I hate people who say things like they are law when they dont know everything about a specific circumstance. Maybe they are just trying to not get your hopes up or what but keep plugging through and hopefully youll walk again.
That made me so sad, especially after the progress it sounds like you made... that sucks soooooo much really.
Seriously keep us posted on anything and everything - we actually do care. And if theres one thing I know, you're a tough-as-balls type of girl, I don't think anything can keep you down. Prove me right.
Goddamn. That is really shitty. I hope you the best in recovery. Their first guess was that you wouldn't walk again, but it seems you were well on your way to proving that wrong. I'm sure you can do it again.
And if all does truly go wrong, get yourself a prosthetic that looks like the leg from the Terminator.
Its really admiring the way you are putting up with this, most people dont have the same strenght you have.
I cant say i feel sorry for you because you seem a person that doesnt need anyones pity. However its a really big shame that something like this happened to you.
Im damn sure you above most can get over this however unfair or painful it is.
I'm so sorry that you had to go through all that Zia. That's a terrible series of experiences.
The fact that you're nearby makes it even worse for some reason. That is if you're still living where you were when you first came to the states. I can relate only in a miniscule way... It's been a year since I broke my tibia entirely in half and it was probably one of the worst and most humiliating times of my life.
Eventually I healed and since then I have never taken my legs for granted. I have a x-ray picture of my broken leg on the bottom of my top bunk bed so whenever I wake up that's the first thing I see and it inspires me to do good things and that there are people in the world like you, who are great people, but will never be able to walk again.
You will heal mentally in time, the rest is up to fate. I don't believe in luck and that there is a reason what happened to you, happened to you. [ not like God or anything ] You are a strong person from what I've drawn from talking to you on msn/TLnet and you WILL perservere.
Saying sorry about your predicament is mechanical and i doubt it coming from a random stranger means much to you. What you have experienced not once, but twice is every parent's nightmare. When i read your writing and imagine myself in your position, i see all my hopes and dreams fading away and my future destroyed as if the sun has set and will not return. A person so young with such a bright future no matter how karma interacts in his fate should not have such fatal injuries as you have sustained.
Zia let us know how we can help . Dotn give into that never walk agian crap if you want it you can have it . My cousin was said to never wake up agian from coma from car accident he did they said he would never be able to talk normal or walk and he is walking talking and almost 100% now he does have some sluring but whatever. i hope you get better fast and we all support and pray for you lady good luck yo.
best of luck. your best choice here is dont let you down and be very strong.
ur hope and spirit are your best allies in this situations. remember our most powerfull weapon is our brain, so tell that bastard that turn the /wolverine mode on (again)
I'm overwhelmed with the amount of support I've been getting. It's enough for me to tear up. I'm glad you guys are behind me while I'm as vulnerable as I am.
I know quite a few physically handicapped people. Once they put everything in perspective and deal with the emotional damage (this blow will come, later it seems), they live a happy life. So unfortunate though, so damn unfortunate.
We don't know each other, but I just wanted to chip in with everyone else who has written condolences and say that I am truly sorry for what happened. Sometimes life throws crazy things our way, and there's nothing we can do but take it as it comes and do our best to carry on. I hate how such terrible things can happen to people so undeserving of them. I just want to echo what so many others have said and tell you, please, do not give up hope. You will walk again, and that's going to be a really amazing day. I would wish you luck, but I don't think you will need it.
gaaayhhhhh I typed up a lenghty reply and computer crashed
In summary. Don't give up hope. Also, Doctors ALWAYS give you pretty much the worst case scenerio. Not the one they feel is most likely. They really don't want to come back to someone and say "Oh, you know how i said you be walking again? Nevermind tee-hee. Here is a wheel-chair mag, i circled the ones your insurance covers for ya. How about that darn weather today?"
Now, lets all unite and play a FF Iron man this weekend and pray for zias knee as we shatter Kheffkas with the pearl lance and ragnorok or illumina if you perfer.
Even though it doesnt feel like it yet this feels so much worse compared to steve irwins death. Hit twice by a car collision.......... It's a lot to go through one collision and to double that.... no words. ZIA my fellow og I will indeed pray for you tonight. I'm sorry you had such bad fate but it does happen to the best of us. Zia your like hte big sister i've never had. All i can say is live life to the fullest and find peace with it. Appreciate you telling us that. Dunno what else to say, you will survive!
Holy Jiminy Christmas Zia. I'm really pulling for you, for what that's worth to you. You're one of the key members of our community, so you can imagine that this has a profound impact on all of us (I believe that's safe for me to assume). Best wishes be with you, I'm sure you know better than any of us that it's going to be difficult but hopefully not impossible to recover. There is still a lot we humans don't know about the mysterious healing powers of the body, how sometimes miraculous recovery occurs. I'm really hoping something like that happens for you - in the meantime, try your best to challenge yourself and remain active. You're a very strong young woman, Zia, and from what admittedly little I know of you from this forum, you wouldn't let even the most major and serious injury slow you down or prevent you from living the life you're used to. Best of luck to you. We love you.
Eri, I realize this must be very crushing for you as well. Keep your chin up, my friend. Prayers be with you both.
Zia, you know as well as I do that you're much too mighty and stubborn to let something like this stop you. I'm ashamed that all I can do is hope that the support of me and a thousand others in this community will make this at least somewhat easier for you... Good luck, get well, I'll see you from the audience someday.
This happened to one of my cousin, very similar, totally fucked up her knees, and it was believed she would never walk again. Sure it did take a long time and many surgeries, and even some new technology, but she finally made it and can walk again. Although not the same as before, its good she defied the oods and can at least move around.
Maybe you can be the same. If you believe enough in yourself and have determination nearly anything can be possible.

Edit: To answer more directly, because I requested it.
It's incidents like these that sometimes make life seem so unfair and frustrating. It was painful just reading about your experience, I can only imagine what it must be like actually living it. Like everyone else on these forums, the only things I can offer in support are my best wishes and words of support for you and your recovery (yes, you WILL recover). With all the advances in medical science, there is definitely a bright light at the end of this tunnel you've entered, just don't lose sight of it or ever stop moving toward it.
In a potentially disastrous attempt to look at the bright side of things, your life is far from over. You love music and concerts, both can still be enjoyed in your condition. You love SC/BW and gaming in general, which can also be enjoyed in your condition. You have befriended many people online, and they will all continue to reach out to you and send you their support through a medium that is fully accessible. Even though your inevitable recovery will take time and effort, you will not be alone nor without some of the things that bring you joy.
Keep your chin up and don't let these unfortunate events stop you from being the person you are.
P.S. I was about to change the name of this thread because "never walking again" is BS you shouldn't believe for a second. However, it's your thread and the title is your's to choose.
words have failed me... I already know two people who have died in traffic accidents.... but this is just really unfair and I feel really really sorry for u. I just.... really wish there was something..... just something that I might be able to do to help you.... i feel really useless right now... even though i dont know you im like on the verge of tears rite now its just not fair.
I really really really really hope you get well and that no more bad shit happens to you.
I'd like to wish you to get well in a somewhat special way. Here in Romania, some people, especially the old ones are greeting eachother in a way, which is pretty hard to translate to english, means [i wish you [good]] health/fitness/salubrity (i took this one from the dictionary). When I was young(er), I didn't really understand the meaning, and importance of this greeting, but my experiences in life made me understand how important it is, and how ridicolously bad it is, when it's not in your power to do something about it. So, dear Zia

Im not sure if I could pull through if something like this would happen to me.
although I don't really know you, I've read a lot of your posts and wish you much strength and hope. You seem to take it quite well and I really admire that. And don't give up on walking yet!

no kidding. I never knew you but what I got from your writing is that you are one tough chick. to be able to joke around when something as terrible as this happens to you shows an increadibly strong spirit. Just try to remain positive and strong and good things will happen to you. You already payed your dues...
Can't reall find words. That just sucks soo much. I just soo hope that you'll be able to walk again. But until that, you could always own tossgirl a few times.
Kept hoping for this thread to be some kind of strange joke, but apparently not
That's some terrible, terrible new, I don't know what to say really.. Hope you get better sounds.. a bit out of place somehow. I guess, hope medical science improves to the point where you can walk again.
2 car accidents like that.. really, really unfair.
omg.. that sux so bad for you... even though i never liked you i now feel compasion and the need to hug you what can i say... never lose your faith that you might walk again... faith and hope must not die
ouch, I groaned when I read about the second collision. Like other people said, don't give up hope for a new recovery, a young body can be surprisingly resilient. And besides, you're Zia. Aren't you made of metal?
Also, if all these clowns are giving you too much attention, feel free to drop by on Europe and I'll just kind of ignore you or something.
that's some horrible piece of luck zia. i guess lightning does strike twice... all i can think to say is, keep your head up. obviously your body and mentality was resiliant enough to (almost) get you out of the woods the first time, so why can't you do it again? you have everyone at TL.nets best wishes.
I can't put anything worth saying but get better asap and find a way. THrough impossible scenarios we humans have the ability to adapt, never give up on yourself!
damn this is sad shit but whats ever sader is dude had the audasity to say it was your fault, i hope al lgets better and a positive outlook is honestly one of the best treatments. my friend went through a similar situation wheen he was hit by a drunk driver coming home from philly at like 6 am and now he has some brain damage unlucky for him theres not really any physical therapy to improve his condition :\ so just sue that dudes ass off and sit and poke smot
I dont know you but i feel sorry for you . Who gets in a car accident gets a busted knee and when its almost healed get in another one literally starting it all over again. Zia fighting!!!! Don't give up hope and hope you can walk again. ^__^
just of note, did you know that whiplash is almost unheard of in 3rd world countries? much like occupational overuse syndrome etc... its interesting...
i am MOST confident that you will make the best of it. your story after your first accident showed that you got some good portion of willpower. right what you need now. always remember that a human beeing not at all about beeing able to walk straigt. prime example: stephen hawkings.
Wow. Zia, I don't know you very well since I mainly lurk the tourney threads here but I sincerely hope that the doctors were wrong in your opinion and you make a full recovery. All the best,

After the first accident she was back home by 1pm iirc. I also think she went to school the next Monday(accident was on Friday I beleive). Nothing keeps her down ;o
That's awful... very sorry to hear that. People are right, you're handling this well.
I hope you get the best doctor available... one who sees a chance of you getting better. Doctors are wrong all the time, and I bet someone out there can help you.
I don't pretend to know anything on the subject of you're injury (please ignore if this is not relevant), but some skiers had parts (2 of the 3(?)) of your area of leg injury, seperately, and got back to competing (Link 1, Link 2).
I think there is a lot of hope for new treatment methods since a lot of money goes into this when athletes injure these crucial areas. For example, this article talks about some newish methods.
Hope is the last thing that will leave you! Hold on to it and u will overcome this and in the end u will come out stronger after this experiece my friend.Tonight i will save my last thought to u in my prayer.
It would be cool/twisted if this was a joke, but I guess it isn't...sad to hear this Zia.
At least you have your life after two bad smashes, fuck cars eh? Don't think you'll be too interested in driving now I suppose.
Well, I'm sure I could've written a much better/heartfelt post, but it doesn't really ease your pain much, the power of words is great, but not powerful enough to make your leg any better. So all I can really say, from the heart, is get well soon, I wish you the very best and hope that you avoid any further accidents in your life. You've had your fucking quota already...
Take it easy Zia...I'll hang around MSN and we can swear about cars together.
zia, i have a lot of respect for you in this whole thing - you have kept your composure despite the circumstances, and your outlook still seems optimistic in spite of the potential repercussions. i don't know how i would react so something this unfortunate, but you have provided a graceful example.
eat well, sleep well, and listen to the doctors - i pray and hope everything will return to normal eventually. s2
You are alive! What does not kill you makes you stronger. Scars will only make you look more interesting. Advice: i) don't get hooked on pain pills ii) don't take no for an answer. You will recover again and you will definitively walk again. If your feeling down holler for help. The way I see it in this 3v3 that life is, you have more than 3 allies, gl hf, gg will be yours!

Don't objectify my spine, I'm more than just a spine and I know how to fuck up Zerglings IRL, I took a 6-month course...it was called rehab.
Poor baby. My lady, I hope with my sincerest sincerity that they at least gave you good medicines to keep you happy til you can one day walk again. Happy meds and Zia FTW!
I'm going to ask, "Where are the ninjas?"if this story is like HonestTea and ToT)Strafe's.
Otherwise, sorry to hear that about your accident. I too was in a car accident and had to be sawed out of a truck. When they pulled me out, I felt pain like I have never felt before in my legs. If the front went in 1 inch more, I wouldn't be able to walk anymore. To this day, there is still pain in my knees, but at least I can walk.
I am very sorry to hear about this. A horrible coincidence. If you need anything that we could possibly help with, raising a bit of money, doing research, anything that you think we can do, don't hesitate. Part of the thing that sucks so much about reading this from the perspective of someone that doesn't know you and can't help you is the feeling of powerlessness; so if you ever need anything, let us know. I'm sure I'm not the only one who feels this way.
Good Luck, and again, the mental battle is the most important one. In modern society, you can do anything you want even if you can't regain the ability to walk. Don't let it depress you too much, and you'll be fine.
With rapid advancements in technology, I'm sure in the not so distant future devices will be made that will enable you to walk again. Until then, keep your head up! Life is fair in that most people will undergo some great tragedy in their life, so don't worry about being alone. You have plenty of people here for support if you need it. Good luck and best wishes!
That's terrible to hear Zia. I hope you can pull another wolverine and heal up better than any doctor could project. As you already know, it can be done.
You have my sympathy Zia. I hope you can fully recover both mentally and physically. Mental distress is horrific. My sister almost drowned in a pool when she was about 10 years old, and now she's terrified to go into any body of water that is larger than the bath tub. I hope you don't become like that. Being terrified of something, is not how I would enjoy life. You have all my hope and prayers.
Sweety I already wrote in your myspace.. are you financially save at the moment? Otherwise I would start a small donation thing.. Like everyone gives 5-10$ (or more) into an account (pokerstars or whatever) so the Starcraft community could help you getting over some hard time with at least a little $ boost. I mean we aren't able to give online hugs or something like that, so this might be our way to support you besides the condolences.
Stay strong, life is a bitch but as we've learnt in Final Destination you can cheat the bitch sometimes^^
Most probably, but since I cannot help her besides that and due to the fact that I really care about my mates I want to do something. I feel like Zia has had bad things happening to her that could break more than just one innocent soul. I am very fortunate that stuff like this hasn't happened to me and I want to help even if it is just a small support. There are many wealthy and warm ppl at TL who wouldn't care about 10$ at all. If we sum up all those ppl's money we could end up with 1k or more and this might help her to have a few days with more comfort. Would make me sleep better.
well, lets see if she accepts our offer. I think Nazgul or Travis are the persons we should donate it to. Because those are respected and everyone trust them + they wouldn't run south with 1k cuz it's not even 1percent of their Bankroll
i dont want to feel nerdy but, take the future in mind, we're making such incredible technological advances, experimenting with mother-cells that *maybe* she's able to walk again, without any problem at all.
This is a very cruel thing to happen to somebody, it was not even your fault. I feel sorry for you. Don't loose your hope, why shouldn't it be possible to make you able to walk again, like Night[Mare] mentioned above my post.
man do knee injuries suck , and the thing is, they act up later on in life.
I also can't read, i kept seeing the title as Zia "never working again", so I thought the story was leading up to some sort of compensation from an insurance company.
good luck, i've had my share of knee troubles and I feel your pain.
shit im sorry for what happened to you take it easy and dont worry what the doctors say theyre always saying stupid, if u put ur mind into it and wanna walk u can do it kk?
zia very sorry to hear this i really hope everything gets better for you and most importantly stay positive. one thing i learned recently, diagnosed with leukemia 3 weeks ago, is that its not about what happens to you but how you deal with it.

well can you really think of a situation where someone smashes their leg to oblivion and gets sent home on the day it happens?

Haha thats so stupid. How can you think for them. Nobody should donate anything, it's fine if they do. Donating is done by personal motivation, I'd say donating to this is totally ridiculous for various reasons. Especially when there are still people dying from hunger. But im not telling you to donate to that either even when its under 1% of your total capital do I?;/
Also there is a lot of scepticism towards Zia. One thing that is for certain is that Zia lied about many, MANY things in the past. All blatant shameless lies which he/she kept up over time but with many alternations as time passed. Therefore I guess some people (hi trek and gang) have trouble believing any of this is true. I myself am not too shocked with this either, if it's true then its absolutely terrible. And I can not possible understand what would make anyone lie about something horrible as this.
Anyway since any of you isnt really certain about Zia I think you will all do best refraining yourself from commenting futher in this thread, since all you want to do is damage zia, but if this is true you'll feel rather stupid for a long time and you will have hurt someone in the process and that's not really worth it. So even if you are all convinced Zia can still walk and has a penis, you haven't seen proof so please be quiet and play in some other threads so this one can remain clean of rather sarcastic hurtful comments, thx.
Err, Strafe I doubt Eri has fucked a guy. I don't know about any lies but I am 99% sure that she is a girl otherwise Eri would have lied to TL for quite a few years and without any reason. The knee thing is going around for a few months so it's stupid to believe it's a fake. Dunno what happened in the past so I might just get an odd view, but I do think you'll definately sit in the wrong seat here. Donating stuff to Victor or Travis was just to make sure that someone neutral would collect the money. I said it's save because they have a lot of money and 1k is not interesting for them + they are mannered people. Anyways let's see how this developes.

What strafe says is very true. This person ( i dunno if it is a she or a he) had been lying about a lot of things for a very long time. However, it is possible that she/he did get injured. But there is no way it is as serious as it is portrait here. I am a nurse student (3 year), and as a part of my education i have been assigned to the orthopedic part of the hospital. It is the place where we plaster up patients with broken bones, perform surgery and so on. Basically, if the injury involves a human bone, we got the patient. And i can say for sure that there is no way in hell that ANYONE with a crushed bone/knee will be sent home the same day. What this patient will have to go through is a looooong list of examintaions, x-rays, surgeries and so on. And if it is as serious as Zia says it is, well... u look at at loooong stay in the hospital and a long ass recovery after that. And since i actually know a lot about this stuff, i find it very hard to believe what she/he is saying. However... if i should be wrong ( im not ), then i think she/he has help from up above. Listening to metal will not make your bone grow faster.

thats what im saying, it is highly unlikely she was injured as seriously as she says, >.> kiki i dont want to get eaten by the admins ;; im just a noob forgive me pls >.;; it just seemed suspect and i was trying to get zia to explain herself, ill leave this thread now.
Even though most of the people here hardly know you (including myself), I'm truly sorry. This is the kind of story that would even move a total stranger to action. Do your best to heal up (as I'm sure you are) and don't let cruel luck stop you from doing what you want to do with your life. Good luck, and don't go thinking that the grass is always greener on the other side, try to be happy where you are. I'm truly sorry and give my apologies on behalf of all the stupid drivers out there.
It's ok about feeling compasion for her if she had an accident. If not it's even more allright too feel compasion because she/he is having really tough problems. But Fisheye... taking it so far away, donating money? Fishy.. you might not know but there ARE alot of people starving, there are people who don't afford to follow school. How about donating money to people who really need it?
i dont know you Zia but i had some serious health problems in the past too and I can say that your mental condition plays great role in recovering so keep up a good mood and trust yourself, i wish you luck!
To be honest, after looking at the story i don't really quite believe it... No offense but I'm a civilian medic working in singapore and its quite impossible to get discharged within days after such an injury, even especially after a RTA (I've seen and worked on plently of those). In singapore usually the doctor will demand at least a week's stay on the mininal for observation.
Either way, please do take care of yourself Zia. Don't stress out, chill out ^^

You both sent a mixed message " I don't believe you and I think your lying, but just in case your not err.. hum.. hope you get better! (add daft smily) "
About early discharge - I've sent people home on a vent (assisted mechanical ventilation), I've sent pneumothorax cases home after a few hours observation, cranial trauma with cranial fracture home after 24 hours observation, and even pulmonary embolism to be treated at home plus worse stuff...
A stabilized knee fracture does not need hospitalization if you have the adequate support, especially if you’re in the wrong hospital in the first place for further treatment. Multiple fractures means more than 2, could be 2 fingers and a knee - nothing that can't wait for treatment even outside the hospital if stabilized. It all depends on the ancillary support, the economical support at the disposal of the patient, the patient and their doctors.
People often exaggerate their hardships and suffering and there is nothing wrong with that, it is human nature. Some people often call out for support and help in whatever way they can or they feel comfortable with and there is nothing wrong with that, it is human nature. One must take them at face value and simply listen & help instead of judge and criticize.
I am only answering becasue both of you claim to be in the medical field. I suggest you start with empathy and the study of human nature instead of trying to prove the patient wrong, or argue about stuff you have little data about.

I LOVE YOU ...... and Zia get well and read some George R. R . Martin also ask for a magician to come see you we are a crazy grup of people.
im in no position to say "its okay" and even though i dont know u well, i doubt your an idiot..
there are so many things to do with a life whether you can walk or not... the face that you have time in life is so precious^^
i hope you can find something to use the time on.. because trust me.. alot of people who can walk, waste that time and its as if the only purpose they use their legs for is to walk to the washroom.. , thats it..
Hope is what you need.. If you think that you will get better, then you may eventually, but if you give up, you'll never get better.. Mind is a powerful thing.. and yeah, I'll pray for you even though I don't know you.

Hey keep up good spirits. My mom was in a horrible car cash when she was like 17 years old and shattered the bones in her ankle on one leg and broker her knee on the other. They said she would never walk again and were 100% positive. Well? Now she walks 100% ok! Just think, at least you can still play bw/pc games.
Same thing happened to me 2 months ago, but it was a boat accident. Just wanna say something; most of the time, just the will to want to walk again will get you back on your feet. After 1-2weeks in wheelchair, i tried standing and so on. And gradually, i ended up walking again! Even if right now i can't run and when i walk it looks like if im a robot, i keep getting better and i know eventually i will be running like forrest gump.

I just kinda realized how horrible of an example that is, no one would take it seriously.
