Trump's entire campaign wasn't just about policies we disagreed with... it was about him being a morally reprehensible human being who ostracized every group of people imaginable... and yet was still voted in by the people who'll vote Republican no matter what. It's bitter for us because it's a national embarrassment, and the entire world (minus Russia and North Korea) was looking forward to us actually electing someone who could actually run the country. I'd like to second this. I've never liked identifying with a political party because of the way partisanship manifests in this country. I've always made an effort to understand why people would vote for candidates that I found less ideal, I always respected their unique viewpoint with regards to what they prioritized be it the economy, or social issues, or immigration, I can understand and appreciate a vote for Romney, McCain, Bush, etc. I've never liked how quickly people are to throw labels out onto anybody, that sort of dogmatism freaks me out. I hate it from liberals and I hate it from conservatives. I hated my time in school because we had some true Social Justice Warriors (the type that thought that white people making art of chinese characters was offensive and that sort of nuttiness), and I hate when conservatives and liberals sling mud and shit and insults at one another without making the slightest effort to promote a better understanding between each other. I hate the push of religious values from conservatives. But I can appreciate some core values these people hold, that racism isn't as simple as burning crosses and lynching. That religion is an important part of the cultural fabric of America. That people don't respond well to being assigned a label and then dismissed based on that label. Donald Trump just feels like the embodiment of the worst sorts of issues that I've seen within my shallow sphere of political insight. The man rejects opposition in an unhealthy way, he promotes the idea of "winning" rather than cooperation, the degeneration of the ability of people to place a healthy trust in those around them and the people that they elect into office. I'm not sure if Donald Trump will be good or bad for the country, I lean heavily towards bad, but what really freaks me out about Donald Trump isn't even really the man himself, but the kind of electorate that willfully elects him despite everything we've seen from him this election. Freaks me out.

Fitting, for the first time I don't vote in the Clinton senatorial race, lacking a Republican on the Senate Ballot. Same. I am impressed how CA voters keep the death penalty alive, however. There has been more than one attempt on it. I didn't vote for Senate either. I couldn't bring myself to vote for either of them, although having that buffoon Sanchez might have been some fun.

Full disclosure I would never vote for him as I consider him a boob who is unwilling or unable to memorize some key facts about the countries we deal with on a regular basis.
