Has anyone watched Frontline's "The Choice" on the two candidates? I know PBS is thought to be kinda liberal but Frontline has always done pretty in-depth and thorough reporting. If you've seen it, worth a watch?
At this point, I don't even care about the election anymore.
I've already made plans if either of our buffoons gets elected.

I don't know how old the average poster in the thread is, but how do you guys perceive this election in your work/personal environment? I personally can't remember such a crazy US elections. Any marriages destroyed/neighbours murdered/jobs lost, etc?

How it took a top tier presidential campaign team this long to get a hold of Trump's twitter account is baffling. You'd think after the first 3 PR disasters it would have been something of a priority to get under control. Maybe it just took them this many months to make him realize that when he talks it makes him look bad.

I have dumped one of my friends for voting Stein. Me and him talked politics for years. To see him abandon any pretense of responsibility in the face of white nationalism and fascism made me realize he isn't worth maintaining in my life.

My guess is Trump's ego was way too big to listen to advice about handing off his twitter account. Can't stop the man from tweeting his thoughts about the world.

"top tier" I mean, it's not wrong to assume that someone running for the highest political position in the country, if not the world, would be backed by some of the best people possible right? ...right?

Here's another 269 case: http://www.270towin.com/maps/G6WEl Or this: http://www.270towin.com/maps/JNX6z But these are getting less likely so I'll leave it there.

That's not how the electoral system works. If he does that then the Supreme Court will shit all over him and force him to. The Electoral College is no longer a real representative system, they are not empowered to override the will of the people. In a parliamentary system the MPs are empowered to use their best judgement to decide which government to support and how to represent their voters, in the American presidential system there is no such freedom, they are empowered only directly represent the stated will of the people.

Not really, he told us this before we elected him.

Pretty sure the lawyers have said it's $1,000 fine (didn't talk at length to him) and the moniker of a "faithless elector" (this is also what the pamphlet on it said at the convention). Don't think there's much more they could to do him. If you got something else I'd love to see it (sure he would too).

That's how it should be, you are elected to represent the will of your constituents, not do your own thing
