As someone who actually studies the issue, China has been making major pushes towards transitioning to greener energy mostly due to the condition of their environment. Their use of coal is expanding mostly due to the rapid rise in energy usage in China, but they are trying to go green (and made major investment in solar, for instance) and they are acutely aware of the issue given the CCP leadership work in smog-choked cities. | ||
