Everyone's standing should be expressed in coordinates on the political compass: https://www.politicalcompass.org/Do take the test if you haven't already. I have done it many, many times. I feel like all the political parties are much more extreme on those scale then they are in reality. (They are so heavily authoritarian, for instance. Rhetoric vs pragmatism in governing?) I usually wind up (-1, -1).

Hmm, not sure. I think I've taken it two or three times, and I always got somewhere around (5,6-7). I think some people might be too idealist and happy, and I think that's what happened to me the first time, and I got NDP or something, and I'm like nooooope.

It just seems to me that if you have a scale that goes -10 to 10, libertarian to authoritarian, and you put the Conservative Party of Canada at 7, there's no room for fascism or an alliance between big business and the military. Unless the entire scale is assuming a certain sort of democracy and doesn't include other political systems like dictatorships or socialism... or the scale is run by libertarians.

Well there's always going to be opposition against someone like Trump, but all in all, better than expected? I mean, we couldn't expect not a single person to speak up of course.

Tried out that political compass test; got a -4,-5.33. I wonder what their normalized to.

Interesting, I haven't really moved to the right as I've aged. Last time I took this test was about 10 years ago and I was almost the same.
I'm obviously not a centrist but I really barely see a difference between Clinton and Trump policy wise, Trump's rhetoric seems a tad dangerous in that it incites all the wrong parts of people's brains, while Clinton's rhetoric seems flat out stupid and she just always seems to be lying in a some manner with her speech (I said seems, not actually is. No idea why she seems that way to me)

There's a lot of prominent figures and where they stand on that website to compare to.

Like a large part of the house and senate.
