it's a valid criticism of the authenticity of those communist's claim for equality etc when their actual regimes do the most oppressive things and install hierarchy. just like it was legit to criticize those americans who claim to be for freedom etc while tolerating slavery and killing of indians.
but the ideology itself can be analyzed separately from the behavior of particular historical persons. largely as a matter of modal difference.

Facism = You work for your country. Socialism = Your Country works for you.
Thats, in theory, the major diffrence between Socialism and Facism when it comes to the role of the state... Both want "big" states, but the purpose isn't the same.

Under a plan baked into the White House’s budget for 2016, U.S. corporations would theoretically be forced to pay hundreds of billions in new taxes on money kept abroad.
Levying fees on the $2.1 trillion in funds largely held by shell companies through an accounting trick called deferral, the move, which President Barack Obama announced last month, is aimed at raising cash for desperately needed public works programs and infrastructure improvements. If he is successful, companies would no longer have a legal way of avoiding the 35 percent corporate tax by indefinitely investing funds outside the U.S.
But analysts say it’s unlikely such a tax haven windfall will materialize, because it depends on being included in budget legislation drafted and passed by a Republican-controlled Congress. In that sense, the proposal — part of a larger fiscal document outlining where the White House stands on important questions — is seen as a starting gambit in tax reform negotiations.
Republican politicians have vowed to scupper the plans when they come before Congress, where the GOP has a four-seat majority in the Senate and overwhelming control of the House after midterm elections last year from which they emerged victorious and emboldened.
"For six years the president has pursued higher taxes and higher spending, and our economy has paid the price. This budget is simply more of the same,” said House Ways and Means Committee Chairman Paul Ryan, R-Wis.
Yet behind such a stance lie powerful business interests that have long stored cash offshore rather than paying U.S. taxes. Representing hundreds of multinational companies, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and Business Roundtable successfully defended against more modest tax reforms in Obama’s first term.
The Chamber, which spent $33 million for Republicans and against Democrats in the last election cycle, described his budget as “more spending, more taxes, more debt.”

I for one am enjoying our declining unemployment rate and GDP growth.

I for one am enjoying our declining unemployment rate and GDP growth. You don't get it: when something bad happens, it's because of government. When something good happens, it's in spite of government. Unless you are the mover and shaker, in which case, flip the two.

i think the thread needs to bring itself back to reality. You mean where we pretend this wouldn't be the only thing running on right wing outlets if it was happening to white republicans? You and others are suggesting that the reason black people don't want to work for a racist department that abuses the people they police is that it's a shitty town (among other bs reasons). It's so ridiculous I can't believe it's actually being said. let me make this clear for you: nobody (as in not blacks, not whites, not martians, not romanians, not brazilians, not pegasuseses, not draconians, not off-whites) wants to work in fucking ferguson if they have a choice. yeah, blacks probably don't want to work there because of the racists as well (although i find this amusing since there are black police officers affectionately referred to as Uncle Tom by the loving populace), but who the fucks cares, its irrelevant to my point that nobody is going to step up to the plate to work there if you removed the current racist, martian, probably homophobic, definitely not having another choice in careers PD. nobody. add "must not be concerned that police are target for murder" to the list of job qualifications.

If people hadn't turned a blind eye toward then rallied behind a corrupt, racist department run by a racist, lying chief that fed the community into a corrupt, racist courtroom, there would probably not be so much vitriol for the police in Ferguson. Maybe if someone was going to jail for all the flagrant disregard of peoples constitutional rights. Maybe if they hadn't given nearly $100,000 to the chief after he was exposed as being a blatant liar. Maybe it wouldn't be such a terrible place to be a cop/resident.

Other than a corrupt and racist system it's not particularly worse than plenty of small cities.
Of course I'm not justifying attempted murder, but we don't even know who shot the cops or whether the cops were who they were aiming at. You guys would be the first to say that we shouldn't jump to conclusions without facts/evidence, all we know is cops were shot.
I was saying there probably wouldn't have been protests to blame for the shooting (ala Fox/xDaunt) had people not tried to defend/ignore a blatantly corrupt and racist system.

That you even consider "all" in any way, shape or form appropriate as an answer to that question shows a lack of understanding of political ideologies. I was especially curios if you consider any form of social democracy pertaining to your use of the socialism label, and if yes, which.
