What are you taking about? She was a law professor for most of her career and developed an expertise on the erosion of middle class life. What was she a regulator or administrator off?

From 1995 to 2005, she unsuccessfully advised the National Bankruptcy Review Commission to prevent stricter bankruptcy laws on consumers.

From 2006 to 2010, she was a member of the FDIC Advisory Committee on Economic Inclusion.

So which do these advisory positions fit into your rubric, regulator or administrator?

After the crisis, she became an advocate for the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. She was appointed by Obama to help in the creation of the program but when Republicans threatened to filibuster and financial institutions opposed her, Obama withdrew her name from consideration for director. He ended up recess-appointing the next guy to the post.

So she was not a regulator or an administrator?
Show nested quote +

In the Senate, she's part of the Banking Committee and the Health and Education Committee. These are where she's getting her pulpit to make her Youtube soundbites by raging out at groups she feels are responsible for society's woes.

You mean...shes acting like a politician...who also happens to be an expert on the issue of wealth inequality...and shes speaking to that....because individual senators strongest card is their committee positions...which is obviously bad in your book because she is doing that instead of...being a successful regulator or administrator
Show nested quote +

Her books are straight from the Barack Obama playbook of drumming up support and making himself look like a non-politician who can clean the swamp of DC politics. Harvard still claims her as faculty but it would be curious to know the last time she actually taught a class at Harvard or seriously worked there. I'd venture to say it's been more than a decade.
literally 2 minutes of google suggests the last time she taught a course was at least in 2010, so your ability to guess seems to be as questionable as your description of her as a 'failed administrator or regulator'.

If you are going to rage on Warren at least go with the xDaunt method: name the one thing she clearly did wrong and then use that as a broad brush to tar her with because you werent paying enough attention to her other stuff but since she'd lie about that thing in a dumb way obviously she lies about other things to.
By naming specific things you are mad at her for and then have people point out to you that half the things you are mad at her for are just artifacts of your imagination makes you look less credible.
And I say this as someone who had JJ White as his bankruptcy professor and heard enough reasoned anti-Warren positions interlaced with old man rage to differentiate between the two.

Yeah dude you should have googled her. She won the teaching award at Harvard Law twice within last decade. A rather rare feat.

Police officers aren't very bright. Based on their responses to various activities (demanding apologies from sports players wearing i cant breathe shirts comes to mind) it would be more surprising if they handled the news with equanimity.

You're a beacon of a particular kind of posting, that's for sure.

The NYCPBA has needed a restructuring for a long time, in very much the same way the Chicago Public Schools teacher's union does. To pin this on the rhetoric of de Blasio is laughably stupid.

So the Police Union is blaming protesters for the murder. Yeah they won't win any sympathy and in fact makes it look like they are trying to score political points of the death of two of their officers.

They arent just blaming De Blasio, also Holder. The fantasy that cops are under siege is prececisely why so many of them are so terrified of the citizens and leads to overreaction, watching Republicans drip in poisons "If you question the cops you want them all dead" rhetoric is pretty reprehensible.

While it is true that murder of cops is rare enough that looking at a time sample of "last 24 hours" is going to give you a relatively skewed average (to say the least), I can at least understand that when protesters are chanting "what do we want? dead cops!" that it might be reasonable to infer that there is some degree of hostility among a segment of the population.

then add that pretty much any subset of the population is going to have some extremely irrational individuals, and voila - siege mentality.

You have to understand that the city has a really really dark history in the 70's when police officers were being ambused and executed on a regular basis. Combine that with the face that they havn't had a contract in 4 year and are extremly understaffed and underpaid compared to the rest of the country and something like this makes complete sense for the guy.
A wise man will say that he knows nothing. We're gona party like its 2752 Hail Dark Brandon

The NYC Police Department is the most well funded Police force in the entire country, billions of dollars every year which is more than some military budgets of some countries. Also during the 70's the NYPD was notoriously corrupt.

Yeah...there's no way they'd be pulling off as many stop-and-frisks as they do if they were understaffed.

"If you question the cops you want them all dead"

It's possible to think there are significant problems with how leniently (for lack of a better word) police are treated in the justice system, and yet also think that police are falsely accused of misconduct at times.

I'm not sure if that makes me a racist or not.

PS. is there any news on whether that PBA memo is actually real or not? One should rarely trust information reported within ~24 hours of things like this

I bet you Pat Lynch will be the face of the organization for quite some time. The leadership of the police unions is 100% behind this open hostility towards the mayor.

So the Police Union is blaming protesters for the murder. Yeah they won't win any sympathy and in fact makes it look like they are trying to score political points of the death of two of their officers.

They already have all the sympathy they need. You wouldn't have a former Governor and a former police commissioner and prominent alumni of the NYPD sticking their necks out trashing the Mayor and others if they thought the Al Sharpton brigade were in a position to chop them off.

There's been a massive mistake in the estimation of the balance of power here (here being NYC, the media, even this very thread), a mistake which the NYPD is on the verge of demonstrating to the Mayor, the City Council, and the legions of people who apparently think that they hold the whip hand and can say and do nearly whatever they want against the police. The pendulum has swung very far one way, and it is about to swing back unless certain people (aka DeBlasio, Mark-Viverito, etc.) start wising up real fast.

The fact that you think there should be any balance of power between a police force, and the public, the local government etc. shows just how messed up this situation is.

Also the leader of the NYPD basically threatening anyone who protests and public at large for that matter, even the mayor is WAY beyond the realms of balance. Mental or otherwise.

Telling me I'm wrong but not spelling it out makes you look less credible. I don't have "rage" for Warren either, I just think she's a phony positioning herself for a presidential run and that she would make a bad president. Edit: her job isn't "expert on wealth inequality", it is "Senator from Massachusetts". She is on regulatory and administrative committees and claims to represent the interests of consumers from her state and the nation, yet she has few if any real accomplishments in that capacity. That is my point.
