okay, I'm all set to go pro
Change your hotkeys first.
This game is quite fun. I generally get 5-6 seconds every game. It also gives me interesting trivia. Who would have guessed I have difficulty hitting the E and the W keys?
3.336, after trying for... I don't know 10-20 minutes? Another useless skill, get! edit: 2.851 The U --> V messes me up the most edit 2.751 2.646 2.505 Ok I will post a picture once I get a better time.
Turns out I only had to wait 1 run. I've found that I consistently get my best times after doing 2-3 "clean runs", going to look at the TL thread for 1 minutes or so, and then coming back. 2.316 2.257 2.219 2.133 I swear they should make a program that lets you train sc2 macros like this, people would improve their mechanics so quickly! 2.129
I don't know why anyone would cheat on this but I'm seriously calling BS on anyone under 3...either that or you basically just systematically mash and hope you get lucky.
Consistently under 4 seconds for me. First time the sounds really scared me so it took me almost 30 seconds haha! Once muted it was much easier. W->X really screws me.

That would be awesome! Especially with flipping through hotkeys for macroing.

Yeah, as much as I want to think everyone will be cool and wont cheat... If you are hardcore enough to get below 1.5 seconds, you can film your keyboard doing it too ^^

Yeah, a screenshot isn't really a reliable way to legitimize a score. Another way to cheat would be to edit the image of the screenshot. By the way my score is around 6 seconds on average.
EDIT- After trying for a bit longer I got scores around 4 seconds. I'm really proud of getting 5 seconds exactly, without any decimal places.
The more you practice it, the faster you'll get, there's just several patterns that you need to get down so this isn't quite the competition of who is the actual fastest typist here. (:
a few friends and i in high school went through a mini-phase of mini-obsession with this mini-activity. talk about a time waster. this and speed clicking.
3.008 was my best. I press E instead of W way too much. I don't know why........ qrstuvewvxyz thats what I do every time.
Now 2.625 is my best.. I fixed my W problem I think.. now its mainly O not being pressed. 2.574 is my best now.. The way I am getting around 2.6 is doing it at a speed I can get 100% which is around 3.1 now then just doing it from memory even with my eyes closed and hoping I don't make a mistake. Anyway I am done with the game.. I get addicted too easily and could see myself doing this for hours :/
and yeah.. uvwxyz is so retarded compared to the rest of the keys..
3.022 after a while. Granted this game doesn't really train your typing skill at all but it sure is fun :D Near the end I just spam tuvwxyz since I get the order of those messed up a lot.
This is both much more entertaining and helpful/practical than I thought it would be. (I was going to say something slightly different but forgot what words I wanted to use)
After a while I worked myself down to 4.8, and that's good enough for me not to spend any more time trying to get lower. It's cool how practice seems to have huge results; if you spend enough time it seems to be possible to get really low numbers (at least for me that's what I found), but maybe I just wasn't doing it for long enough and didn't hit any sort of cap (only a couple minutes). edit: when I went to go close the window I gave it a few more tries (it is quite addicting, lol) and got down to 4.182. I'm surprised how easy it is to improve numbers with just a little bit (seconds, not even minutes) of practice
I think the main thing that slowed me down was looking at my keyboard; I'm normally a 95% touch-typist, but not for this; what about you guys? Biggest problem letters was around G/H/I (not sure which), and I'd also sometimes hit Y instead of X or something (obviously a mental error)
the sound effects are so fun, I stopped now at 3.793 after a few runs. Don't feel like trying to get much lower (and I don't think I'd get into the 2s ever wow).
Man, about 6 years ago I used to average 1.4-1.5s after weeks of practice. BW's taken its toll on me. Now I can't go more than 10 tries without my hands cramping :/ 3.1 best right now T_T
Fastest time I got was 3.872. Maybe I'll try again later, but after about a couple of minutes, that's the best I got. I think M is the key that kills me the most because I hit it with my index finger =/. Serves me right for typing like a seasoned WASD gamer though, a lot of keys are hit with the "wrong" finger =/
