This feels so right and I would love to see Sea develop into a Code-S player under Liquid

I didn't actually know that Liquid was in the process of recruiting someone new, but I guess I shouldn't be surprised since 2 guys just retired. If anyone, I was expecting a Liquid Supernova because he lives in the Liquid team house (apartment) in Korea.

As for Huk, pretty sure Nazgul said that he still liked Huk as a friend, but as Team Liquid's manager, he wouldn't put him back on the team because he left for another one that paid more.

For Liquid MMA, I think the whole thing with Slayers and MMA was resolved.

I never expected Liquid Sea :D Either way, the roster is now half Korean!

According to Quantic's CEO Mark Ferraz he's still shopping around for a team and wants 4,000$ a month. Liquid might not want to pay that much. Most teams wouldn't.

Not another racist imbecile.

This has absolutely nothing to do with racism....It's just that I can't "identify" myself enough with the korean players. They in general are very unrecognizable to westerners, even though he probably is good and all that.

I never get that.
As a german how can your identify yourself more with an American then a Korean?

Being white helps. I'm not being sarcastic at all. Race is a large factor. I'm Chinese American (born in America) and I identify more with the bigger Koreans than most American players. The culture is just so incredibly different. America and Germany have cultures more similar than Germany and Korea.

Never heard bigger BS, but I guess that's sort of "standard" around the internet... I as (caucasian/white) German can identify myself much more with Korean players than American ones. Why?! Because of the cultural barrier? Fuck, no, because they provide the best StarCraft e-sports has to offer. And by the way, while the German culture seems to be further assimilating to the American culture (anglicisims, social behavior etc.), following this "trend" bothers me...

dude, you need to relax.

with all the foreigners vs koreans talk that we've been "brainwashed" from the dawn of time, how can you NOT relate more with non-koreans? and it has nothing to do with race. if your country has historical issues with racism, that's your deal. don't force your collective shame on others. i root for Select (foreign korean) or Sen (foreign taiwanese) as much as i root for your random white guy, as long as their opponent is a korean-trained player. if that's racism, then i'm guilty...

edit: hell, i even rooted for the chinese when they got their Code A spots. yeah, that's so racist :p

So racism is okay if your country of heritage hasn't been historically involved in such matters?! Wow... Well I just want the best player to win and if the Koreans have the best conditions/training regiments to be the best, why should I not root for them?! Nothing hinders foreign teams to do so as well...
This foreigner bias is at least as much retarded as a lot of people around here seem to be... I mean, please re-read your post and confirm that you mean what you just wrote there... Really... Seriously?!?!

where, how, what, lol. how in the hell did you conclude that from my post? point was that racism is non-issue, and when you're not overly sensitive about the issue, you tend to make the right calls. in example, you don't call something out that actually is not racist. like situation right here. you attack that chinese american dude very harshly, and you don't even know him. now you do the same thing to me, throwing around label "retarded" at the majority of the community (european WCS finals viewer numbers, take a hint)............

you should at least try to come off as civil, even if you don't agree that it's easier for non-koreans to relate with non-koreans in a korean-dominated game. you also didn't adress the issue of rooting for chinese (in Code A) or non-korean-trained koreans (d.select) when they play against korean-trained players, which doesn't even touch on your personal opinions which you are entitled to have, but does show that you calling that guy out as racist is just wrong.

have a nice day...

"if your country has historical issues with racism, that's your deal. don't force your collective shame on others." It's particulary this phrase which tipped me off, u know...
While I agree that the term racism is a bit overused/misused in this context, I find it utterly important to be as sensitive to this as you can be (and that might as well come from my country's history, aside with our lack of patriotism, which is overall a good thing in our more and more globalized society).
I'm no friend of this overdone political correctness thing, but it's a pretty small margin... Sorry for indirectly labeling you, I'm sometimes going a bit over the top with these things, but so much stuff you read on the web is just SO god damn stupid and ignorant and people don't even realize... That really hurts my brain!
However, I want to apologize and thank you for making you point of view clear(er)

Have a nice day yourself and in the end it's all about StarCraft, ain't it?

EDIT: But I never called anyone around here a racist, just to make myself clear, it was more of a debate about problems with racism overall!

WTH, $4000 per month, is this even possible for the best SC2 player right now? He's not even in code S any more.

Stephano makes $96,000 a year, which is about $8,000 a month. Of course, Stephano is a foreigner, so he will get a higher salary (it sounds incredibly stupid, but let's face it, it is true).

That being said, one must remember that MMA is a 2 time GSL champion...

$4000 a month is like less that half of what Stephano is being paid at the moment.

I was sceptical at first but after having watched Sea's stream for 10 minutes I am happy he's part of the cool kids club :D.

He has personality and is not shy to speak English.

Best of luck to Sea, I think hes a great addition to the team.

I hope he can take some pressure off Taeja and HerO, will they be in the GSTL next go around?
