I almost named my first son Maynard >.<

Maynard was a great player and I haven't talked to him in years, but...all this talk of Maynard winning stuff is a bit odd. I can't remember him winning anything of note (neither PGL, wasn't in the BW ladder tournaments, lost all the I2E2 tournaments as I believe he lost to a DT rush in the one final he made). Khalsa sent him to Korea and only Grrr had any real success there out of the 4 Khalsa sent. He then went a different direction altogether.
And of everybody in this thread my guess is the person to look at is Atlas as Atlas (assuming he's Atlas) has known Maynard for a long time.

Let me correct myself. What I meant was at the time you could view him as a person who is a cross between those two players. Not if he played today he would be so and so.

Yeah, AFAIK, he's only really known for moving workers from 1 base to another which is a completely epic thing to be known for because its so obvious if you look back on it.

He isn't marinekingprime, mma, or bomber. I'll check more. If anyone has replays that are confirmed to be the real maynard those would be the most helpful.

Does anyone remember in the beta when some of the casters first heard of the Maynard transfer and they literally said it 10 times per game every game.

What maynard should really be remembered for is like making 3 bases before a unit or something silly like that. He was beyond Idra powering player at times and in money matches.

If any of those really participated in playhem, they would crush them, not finish 2nd or 3rd. So it's probably a B teamer terran, who has not a salary etc and want some money?

So far ive checked MKP, Bomber, Puma, MMA, Keen, MVP, TheSTC, SelecT, aLive, Thorzain, beastyqt, empirehappy, kas, brat_ok, boxer, poltprime, ogstop, Jinro, tarson, slayersdragon, and probably a few others. Basically went down the list of replays at gosugamers.net and checked most of the terrans.
I'd be willing to believe its the real maynard if fayth isnt joking as he would be a person that would know that kind of thing. If anyone wants me to check if its someone, lemme know. Im stopping for now though.

You won't find him if he is a B teamer because he has not enteref foreign tournaments etc. The best way would be to ask them directly.

It's like the most logical thing.

It's like the most logical thing. When starcraft 1 first came out you have to understand that people had literally 0 idea of how to play. So no, people didnt transfer workers. They may not have even produced enough to do a transfer. He was the first to do it afaik, or at least he popularized it. Seems simple, but its hard to say if you would figure it out in the same amount of time he did given the circumstances.

Kind of disappointing its not the real maynard. Fayth why would you lie?

I have asked him in private myself, and he is NOT the real Maynard... who specifically it is I'm not sure, but he's not the original, so let's set that aside please, this is painful.

I think we came to the conclusion we already knew it wasnt maynard and someone suggested TSLHeat and his hotkeys in replays seem to confirm it.

Yeah this is me. We've recently gotten some of the old gang together and we chill in #kali on BNET. Anyways Maynard does exist, plays regularly, is not the guy from Playhem, *is* still a viciously good player, was part of that first generation of great thinkers who really carved out some of those first strategies in Starcraft 1, might not have won everything but he sure has heck was a huge part of that original community, and hooray for Starcraft history!
