While I understand that there's a need to discuss this matter, this thread has way too many trash posts in it. Please think carefully about what you want to say. Ad hominem attacks on Swedish people in general, calling you fellow Starcraft fans idiots etc etc will be dealt with with harsher punishment from here on out. Keep it civil people.

Page 230: Here's some more stuff that'll get you banned!
- Conspiracy theory mongering about MLG and GOM
- Comparing people to Hitler
- Posting useless one liners of arguments that have already been repeated ad nauseum.

Sure is easy to just agree with a progamer because they are always right.... lol
Also I believe he's referring to the drama of the entire situation rather then nani's actions.

This "abusive" behaviour was apparently SO HORRIBLE compared to all the BM we've seen in the GSL so far. T_T

hahaha if thats the only thing he did "wrong" GOMTV clearly doesnt whant naniwa in the GSL. hope they atlaest loose some viewers.

I doubt they will lose any viewers. There are 10x more Idra fans than Naniwa fans.

obviously they wont lose any viewers. face it. people want to watch the best play, and the only place you find that is at gomtv

Disproportional punishment, he did not cheat, he did not change the outcome of the group.... hand him a price money fine or some sort. Plus Gom trying to stop something that they have no real way of stopping, what stop him doing a very bad proxy 2 gates and as soon as nestea spot it, he goes gg.
Furthermore who really got offended?
if they are to enforce their "During a match, a player shall not offend the opponent or audience with abusive behaviours" They really need to justify it.

The guys are called Pro-Gamers, that implies they are "Professionals" at what they do. I don't see any Professional in any other sport forfeit the chance to beat one of the top 5 other contenders in that sport, regardless of what tournament situation they are in. I am neither a hater nor fanboi of Naniwa, I really like to watch his games, because he is "sooo good at SC2" (as some casters we know and love might put it) but the attitude he is showing might come back and bite him some day. You either want to be the best (or one of the best) or you are in it just for the money.

From an observers point of view (as is the only one that we viewers have - don´t pretend it is otherwise, none of you actually knows the exact development of events right at the event was - If Nani wanted to forfeit and they didn´t let him as someone stated, or if he set down in his boots, was pissed and an a split second decided "well, I dont want to play this out right now") I think GOM´s actions are completele justified.
It is not about BM being pinned to a disrespectful strategy (this goes out to you "double standard guys"), it is about how he executed that strategy. The BM for me lies in the fact that he didn´t micro at all - so his play was bound to fail. Had anyone ever pulled off to 7 probe rush Nestea and beat him with probe micro, the crowd would go wild. (Not that I think it would be possible but... you get the point)

TLDR;
Professionals don´t mess up like that. Yay GOM - keep up the quality!

i agree with this- up to the punishment. Naniwa broke no rules, yet is being punished anyway. Is what he did poor sportsmanship- maybe, almost certainly. That's irrelevant though. There is no specific rule that doesn't let a player probe rush- the closest one is "ban anyone unfit to be a progamer". There's no rule against probe-rushing, and technically it's a strat- even if it's one that has little to no chance of working. What he did was in no way against the rules, which is why I think the decision was wrong.

Way to insult both Korean and Swedish culture in the same post, even if you only meant to insult Korean culture.

Someone please ban that idiot. He is incredibly insulting.

It isn't insulting to swedish people as we embrace people being different. Your post attacking him and calling him an idiot for voicing his impression and opinion is however unnecessary and should by korean standards result in a revoke of forum rights.

I do like that. Naniwa isn't one of them.

He is. He got many very solid titles to his name and put up really good games in the Blizzard Cup. I don't even know where to start.

Start out by pointing out a game he has won in GSL.

I honestly think Sen will do much better in GSL then Naniwa

Start out by pointing out a game Sen has won in the GSL.

When Sen was in the GSL he made it to the Ro32 and had some close ZvZ's vs NesTea

And he beat Naniwa in Blizzcon so I wouldn't say that the gap between their skill levels is THAT massive

And Naniwa beat MVP, nestea, and DRG at blizzcon so I wouldnät say that the gap between their skill levels is THAT massive.

There is a distinct difference. The Colts serve to BENEFIT from losing their games at this point via a better draft position leading to a better future for the team. Doing stupid shit and not playing a game serves no purpose other than making you look like an asshole.

So sucking for luck is ok (making no visible effort to even try to win games, despite the fact that a few of these actually matter in playoff implications for other teams), but being pissed at yourself and throwing a game that really has 0 meaning for anything is not?

no, people hate this in the nfl and is the reason there is a draft lottery in the NBA

it isn't okay, people hate it and it may be changed because of this season.

OP, can you make a poll please?

Is it fair to ban Nani from Code S?

Yes
No

Please. I'm really curious to see what the majority of TL thinks. We can already see that what we'll call "The Naniwa case" creates divisions.

Naniwa through his hard work deserved that place, now because of some nubs on the internet saying how Naniwa should run HIS life - this happens.

Pffff I thought GOMTV were better than this.

Naniwa clearly tried to out smart neastea but he stuck with a standard build.

rules have to be vague or people will find loopholes to get around it -_-

As a lawyer, please take my word on the fact that what you just wrote is nonsense.

Laws are not meant to be vague at all. They are supposed to be very clear so that people know the lawful boundaries and can act within the scope of the law. Ambiguity actually makes for invalid law...

Naniwa worker rushed a match that didn't need to be played and that no one who knows anything about sc2 watched anyway and lost his code s seed.

yeah no one had any interest in naniwa vs. nestea. why would you right?

If you watch enough matches you would know that that match was going to be a farce since nothing was on the line. Hence why a lot of people used the time to get a drink or take a leak or something and missed the game.

GSL is tournament for professional players, playing is profession, not some kind of fun.
In GSL they play for audience! Not for themselves. Do you think in normal JOB you can say to your boss that you have bad humor and dont wanna work? NO!

Naniwa, no matter what he think, should just sit in that booth and give fight with all his heart! To respect Korean audience, NesTea, GSL stuff, online audience etc.

This match wasnt meaningless, if not for Naniwa it has meaning for audience, probably for NesTea...
This is not a playground for 3yo kinds, this is professional tournament, for professional players.
His duty as a player was to give his best in that game!

With all his heart!? Do you really think that any progamer can do this after being eliminated in the most frustrating manner in 3 extremely close games?

For Nestea and Naniwa it stopped being a tournament the moment they got 0-3. From them on it became an annoying waste of time.

Also, it's quite disrespectful to start a post with "Kids"...

Really? Does FC Munich just quit the field when they are down 0-3 in the 80 minute? Does Hamilton decide to just not drive the last 3 races if he can't be world champion? Your comparison makes me sick. They are professionals and they should act like they are.

Goal average counts towards next matches, Hamilton bonus salary depends on his roster place.

Nani has nothing to do with the match, no gain, no pride (he had won nestea before), and he was surely on tilt after losing 3 games where he fought like a beast and lost to a narrow margin.

Too much hate here for nothing. I think Nestea should grow up a bit if he was furious, he is not 15 yo after all.

If this was KeSPA Naniwa would have to earn a progaming license just to play in their leagues. Then, if he did do this type of behavior it's safe to guarantee his punishment would be far worse.
