This hype was a brilliant strategical move by EG. Knowing their announcement would be controversial what better way to soften the blow than to slowly leak hints to the announcement allowing the community to slowly flesh out reasons for everything and give time for people to understand and accept the changes coming. Instead of just dropping the bombshell of huk leaving liquid to join EG for more $$$ (which would almost certainly cause a huge uproar) they will avoid a lot of that with this plan they've unfolded.
