Your logic is awful. Someone has to win the lottery. It keeps going until someone does and the odds of someone winning increase. The odds of someone winning this decrease as time goes.
u obviously don't play poker or haven't had much mathematical background, but as the odds of winning decrease the prizemoney increases making all the necessary balance for the percentages. it's basically all about determining the average winnings of one tournament you enter. simply: 1%chance to win 100dollar is the same as 100% chance winning 1dollar every time u enter the tournament (for free) because that's the average number which on the longrun equalizes.(so after 100games u probably gonna win one, making the 1dollar a tournament a good mathematical estimate so u can think of it as every time u played that tournament u earned 1 dollar -> this concept is the basic of professional poker)
only mistake in this logic is if the chance to win it is so low that noone can win it in their lifetime but as someone noted a 90%winrate has 19% chance which is not that bad. and again, it's FREE so u can try your luck anytime

EGIdrA already tried and failed apparently. Idra is easy to cheese, hes not a good candidate to win this. You need someone with insanely good early attack builds the defeat any cheese and blast through any non-professional player based purely on micro. Much like naniwa or mkp do against lower opponents, they just 4gate / rush their way through and never lose because their micro is too good.

But it's a shot at 1k. can't you just play and have fun? and if you win the tourney you get the fucking money. jeeze
LOL Top players!?!?
not even sure if you are serious kalu.

If dreamhack coin tossup is legit i dont see any reason to hate on it. Its up to them what they want to do with their money. Any top terran player is more than capable of going 16-0 vs mediocre GM tbh.

How is that so hard to understand?

I think this would actually be a cool idea, if it wasn't like 4-0 each. I wish someone would do this tourney but have it like bo3 against really high end players. Like one from each race. So the player has to play against say, Idra then Naniwa then select and all beat them in bo3 xD

why isnt this locked, most pointless tournament ever
|
this tournament seems legit im sign up! brining home the 1k baby!

Google has to be the worst GM i've ever seen in my life.
|
Nobody is going to win against 4 GM players 4-0 a piece.
Especially since those 4 GM players can watch the stream/play style & particular strategies used by said person.
This is not a tournament.

wasted your first post on this? why are you guys making smurf accounts to advertise this? this has got to be the worst idea for a tournament ever

It would be nice to close this topc since its no real tournament .
The coint toss tournament was different it wanted you just to win your matches against the said players, but winning every single set even if they are mediocore US gms wich get usualy dominated by top EU players ( if you compare they play and how much effort they put on you can only agree). A single BO win already loses you the "tournament ".
Also the ridicilous amount of advertisements shows that this is not a real tournament.
I recomend close this topic and give Pride a temp ban.
The idea of out of the norm tournaments is generaly bad any winchance that is lower then 50 % is already hardly worth to compete in.
A tournament shows who is the better player overall and can take matches convincingly not every single set with current balance.
Coin toss delivered this with having nothing but player skill decide if they can take a match or not.
Also Nestea told in a recent interview after winning vs coca that he predicted a 3:1 win he knew he was overall superior but given the rock , paper , sciccors scenario sometimes u cant take 4 matches aka 16:0
All points are against this being a legit tournament with legit chances to win.

Then don't compete, google and I have not forced anyone to compete, this is your free will. If you don't like it.... then you have nothing to worry about..
So you're basically saying.. since I hosted a tournament with a low win chance, I should get temped bann??
If this is truely not worth anyone time, why bother posting in this thread and then complaining abou it to just grab more attention?
If this is really a pointless tournament and all mind thinks alike, why are there people still entering? They want to have fun, they want to practice... They want to do something other than ladder.
Majority is frustrated at the rules rather than the tournament itself. Should google and myself change the rules due to demand of the community? Is the sword mighter than the pen? you decide..
I appreciate destructive criticism, but this is all just flaming.

People willing participate in scams (knowingly or otherwise) all the time. It however doesn't change the fact that a scam is a scam like this one. I would be willing to bet the reason this thread keeps getting locked in its various forms is because the admins/moderators don't particular like promoting a scam.
The reason it's a scam is because of how misleading it is. It is not a tournament for $1000 is it? yet that's exactly how you present it. I suspect if you want to have it posted and not get locked, it would have to be a little less misleading

What's up with the fake tournaments lately? First with that metro something tournament to $100,000 tournament, and now this? This is just a shame to the community.
|
Somehow I don't even think you have the prize money if someone did magically win.
|
It's just good marketing. I don't see anything wrong with it.

Agreed with many voices in this thread: this is a lot more like a carnival stand than a tournament.
By making it this hard to ever win the prize money, this event amounts to little more than an attempt at free advertising.
I'm sending a warning to PrideTV but I'll state it here as well: don't post this kind of thread again or you will be banned.
